Web Print Tool on MP W6700SP HELP!

Art Post ·
Below is an email from one of my clients. My service department is telling me this is a limitation of the WEB PRINT TOOL. Can anyone help! Gents, We ran in to another issue last week. Using the web printing tool, we send a set of PDFs to the plotter set to print at 1/2 size. We changed the settings per below. The full size set was 42”x30”. The actual drawings printed ½ size, but the sheet cut at the original sheet size of 42”x30” still making for significant waste. The old plotter...

Ricoh W6700SP Pricing Proposal

Just thought I would share this recent proposal for the MP W6700SP pricing proposal with everyone. Would like to hear any thoughts or comments about this proposal also. You can view the MP W6700SP pricing proposal here or below. Seems to me like everything is included, although pricing is average and the maintenance/supply pricing seems to be above average. Thoughts?

New Jersey HVAC Company Selects Ricoh MP W6700SP over OCE PlotWave 450

Just about a week ago I was able to visit a client with an existing KIP 3000 multifunctional wide format device with hopes of providing a new Ricoh MP W6700SP. Seems the KIP 3000 had received quite a workout over the years and was closing in the end of it's useful life. After spending about fifteen minutes with the device and the operator, I found that the KIP 3000 was purchased pre-owned, and the volume was about 3,000 square feet a month, in addition the KIP 3000 has a dual roll paper...

Ten Things You Need To Know Before you Lease or Buy a New Ricoh MP W6700SP

Ten Things You Need To Know Before you Lease or Buy a New Ricoh MP C3004 & MP C3504 was a blog I wrote about a week ago. It was such a hit that I thought I would blog about my findings for the new Ricoh MP 6700SP wide format print/copier/scanner. Since these systems arrived about a month ago, I've been able to place three of the MP W6700SP's in the field. When thinking about the MP W6700SP, there are two words that come to mind, reliability and performance. When the Ricoh W6700SP is...

W6700 should be able to do that; you may need to use a carrier sheet. No first-hand experience (that's a pretty rare request!)

I’d take that price point for the equipment any day, especially since everyone is buying them off special programs etc. .043 per square doesn’t seem bad. I like .05 per square better though and that’s where I used to put it.

Whenever I see a proposal that doesn't specify the number of months the lease is based on I get suspicious. Seen too many times where the customer assumes it's 36 only to discover at the 11 hour that it was 60.

Purchase and lease price are high.............but if the person can get it good for them. I'm probably going to be $1K lower on that system day in and day out and even lower if I smell competition. Service price is right.

Yes, that quote somewhat high, however the system does have a $22K MSRP. Does anyone get MSRP anymore?

I just hit singles day after day after day. Every once in a while I hit a double or a triple. A home run just a couple times a year. My on base percentage is very very high. If I started swinging for the fences or get cute and try to hit it down the base lines to get more doubles and triples no doubt my on base percentage would go way down even though I'd get lucky every now and then. Most players who spend too much time swinging for the fences wash out of this league in 3 years or less.

I recently lost a large opportunity because of the wishy washy "rules" we have with net new business. Of course we pay higher for net new than existing, however if the existing client buys another business, it's a fine line between if that's new or existing. Problem is you won't know until you get your co statement. Thus, I had to go in with decent GP and I got hosed because another under cut the price. I could have gone lower, however I need to feed the family just like everyone else.

Re: Ricoh MP W6700SP Pricing Proposal

Canon direct used to have reps in our area who would do something we called the 3/5. Everything on the paper trail from marketing to proposal to sales order & service contract would reference 3 years except for the actual lease doc which would be a 60-month lease. After 36-months the service plan would skyrocket and the sales rep would then try to use the escalation as a hammer to get the customer to roll the old lease 24-months early. We'd see customers who would get rolled over and...

By my math that lease payment doesn't add up very well for 48 or 60 months. By the rates I use that payment for 48-months would fund $14,982.71 and 60-months would fund $18,074.64 Makes me wonder if this rep's dealer principal is jacking up the lease rate factors his reps use SIGNIFICANTLY in essence whacking the rep for a hidden $1,525.64 in funding. That would be a real kick in the teeth to find out.

Ricoh Wide Format Going Down the Tubes

Is anyone else selling the Ricoh line of wide format devices? Would love to hear your thoughts about the age of the CW2201 and the MP W6700SP. In addition have you heard any rumors of these models being replaced? Would love to have a chat and see what your strategy is moving forward.

We just picked up Canon color plotters so we have the inkjet side covered. I have heard nothing regarding the W6700SP,seems odd they would only have one plotter in the lineup, i did mention to the owners to keep an eye out for options, we do sell a fair amount of 6700's.

yeah nothing here with hearing updates on the MP W6700. I did hear that this was a Ricoh USA decision and not world wide. In any event I believe it's just a matter of time before Ricoh folds the tent on AEC wide format. Who knows maybe writing these threads may get then to change

We use vellum without problem. The main thing is to make sure you set the paper type on the machine and driver to Film so that it fuses properly.

Moving wide format and production devices

Art Post ·
Just a short story,,,,, it was about two years of more ago that I quoted an Architect for a wide format replacement of their inkjet WF. They were on a second floor, narrow stairs and a lower ceiling at the start of the stairway. I took one look and decided that my team would not deliver because of the config of the stairs and a turn. I did not get the order. Today, I stopped in and guess what they had? The Ricoh MP W6700SP! Truly a learning lesson for me. Do not make an assumption that your...

I think you'd be amazed some of the places we've installed wide format machines and console machines and your dealer is multitudes larger than us. You should have seen the de-install of an Oce we did a couple of months ago. Disassemble the machine as much as necessary and use a mover's blanket as a cradle and put a guy on each of the four corners is the typical way we do a challenging wide format install. The more difficult the install the more disassembly you do to get it as light and small...

MP W6700SP help

Can someone please remind me how the counter reads with the the Ricoh MP W6700SP. Does the printout actual signify square feet on the printout rather then "feet"?
Reply

Re: MP W6700SP help

When the machine is set up your techs tell the machine how it is to count. Can be linear or by the square in feet or meters. We do our service plans by the square foot so that is how we set ours to read.
