Re: COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Forty-Three of Sales

SalesServiceGuy ·
I just created my own YouTube channel doing product videos with future ones planned mostly focussed on MS365. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OotckdOtEg ... and I am working Linkedin a lot more in different ways. Most of the people I know say they have never gotten a lead from Linkedin. They think of this site as a static business card talking about who they are and not what they can do for the customer. They never post to Linkedin. Like most things, Linkedin requires almost daily work to...

SSG that's an awesome video! You can send links to clients, and direct them to your channel. It's a virtual demo that keeps on giving. Kudos I have some of the same issues with getting appointments through Linkedin, however I know of several peeps that use Linkedin as their only source for prospecting and they are doing well. I will keep working it since I have a Navigator account now

JWS- Good luck getting your machine to count correctly! We went round and round with Ricoh and our rep about this. They swear it counts correctly, we know it doesn't. You are correct in that it can be application- dependent; some apps will click correctly, but Acrobat prints, when there are mixed originals, usually treat the whole job as color. I experimented with different drivers (PCL / PS3 / Universal PCL), but could never resolve the issue for our client (a church). BTW, the ame doc...

Re: MPS and Linux HELP!

jdicarlo ·
So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

Maybe I'm wrong about this but with the combined boards isn't there a chance John is a non-Ricoh-type person? I think Hotspot printers are a great option, other than the USB thing. Still trying to figure out how to handle the student walking in with just a USB drive. I guess he could email the doc to the printer from home .

Hey Art, I have not heard of the XPS program. But Xerox has alot of flavors of MPS, thats for sure. So far it looks like Xerox has a well developed direct-to-enterprise MPS program through Xerox Global Services (XGS). This has been around for a while, but they recently "announced" it as Enterprise Print Services (EPS). Four components: - Office support - Remote worker/device support - Production and mailroom support - External doc procurement (outsourcing) Its pretty all-encompassing. Thats...

Re: Calculating Lease Costs and Effective Purchase Price W/O interest

You're getting good answers, but sometimes the third of fourth approach to answering the question helps. Not to imply that the previous answers are incorrect or incomplete. 1. "Lease Rate" is a convenience, given to you so that you can multiply your selling price by a number and end up with a payment acceptable to the lessor. 2. The "Short answer" from your leasing company is "We'll do that deal for 36 months at 0.0302". 3. The "Long answer" which they will seldom give you is: - We believe...

Fiery Vue makes this type of setup much, much easier. If it isn't intuitive, it probably cannot be completed with the driver available. PCL 6 will allow you do this, but maybe not PS within Adobe. From my experience, the driver options are accessed differently. How about sending the components of this job to the Doc Server and combining?

Braxtoq, I think that the larger point is that the GUI is irrelevant. We (who have been in the industry for a while) can remember selling 75 and 85 ppm machines for $40 - $50k. Now they are talking about 75 and 85 ppm A4 machines for under $10k. The question is how you make up the revenue, and that has to be on services - and Sharp is not well positioned due to their thin direct side. Also, since they are print copy oriented (I don't think that they really make money on scanning), they are...

The Ricohs have been slow sellers is not because of end user needs or wants. Basically ours is a quota/revenue driven business from the top to the bottom. The preferred compensation model for commissions is that of a revenue based plan with commissions. Why have a GP driven comp plan for your sales people when your Dealership or Branch has a revenue based quota plan from the manufacturers? It just doesn't make sense. With that A4's from Canon, Sharp, Ricoh, and KonicaMinolta has presented...

However you can accomplish a workaround with the fax board, docuement mall, some type of efax service and a LAN Fax program for Mac (is there a WINFAX for MAC?). Have the efax service or equivulant deliver the mail as tiff or pdf to the mail address for an "incoming fax" folder in doc mall. You need to make sure that you have the PostScript option installed. You will not be able to print from the DOC server or use anything like scan router, DTB etc. Just remember, all of the applications that come with it are windows based and all you can really do is print and scan to email if their network will support it. You will have to install the accessories manually and then you can use them. Otherwise, that should be the only major thing
