Re: The Quest for $200K "When I bit off more than I could chew"

Jason H ·
I’m with you. In July i surpassed my yearly quota and set a goal of 1,000,000. I knew it was a stretch but thought “what the hell, let’s give it the best shot.” December has not been terribly kind. I’ve helped our reps get some deals closed and while doing that had moved things to other dates etc. had about 60,000 orders that look like they will go to January unless something happens before weeks end. I think I’ll finish up around 830,000 - 860,000. 140k to 170k Short but it’s been a...

Jason WOW, congrats on the excellent year! You're right about the time thing, no matter how hard we try, there's no telling of forecasting the future. Unless you have an obscene pipeline, and that's what I'm planning for in 2018. BTW, Jersey just seems to be getting worse and worse, do you think a Jersey accent would work well in North Carolina?

Re: To Ricoh "What I Want for Christmas"

txeagle24 ·
The best thing Ricoh could give us is advanced scanning functionality as a standard feature. To be able to navigate to whatever network folder a user wants would be huge, as would the ability to scan to Word or Excel. Canon already has these features, so we are at a huge price disadvantage if it is functionality a customer needs since we have to add ICE (which has a less-than-desirable UI) or NSI AutoStore.

I was not aware that browse to any folder was standard on the Canon systems. Has it been like that for long?

To Ricoh "What I Want for Christmas 2018"

I always like to start these Christmas blogs with a small story about Christmas tradition in other countries. In Ireland, people celebrate Christmas in much the same way as people in the UK and the USA , but they also have many of their own Christmas traditions and customs. Christmas for Irish people, who are Catholics, lasts from Christmas Eve to the feast of Epiphany on January 6th, which some Irish people call 'Little Christmas'. Epiphany isn't now widely celebrated in Ireland. There is...

We don't define ourselves this way??? How would you define the poor, the Middle Class and the very wealthy? As for "oppresive taxes" what would you call the taxes of Denmark, Norway, Sweden etc. - those should be considered oppressive by Americans but those countries are always the "Happiest People on Earth". Do you understand why? They prefer the lifestyle and freedoms their way of life (and tax structure) provided them. You mentioned the '60's - go look at the Corporate and Individual Tax...

Well said! This is just part of the myth the right is trying to get spread out as truth. FYI, in 1969, the top tax rate (on $200,000 or more) was 77%. 35% looks pretty reasonable now doesn't it?

Art... you'd make $1 million a year if you sold Canon! Love the idea of the staple-free stapler though - not sure if it would be worth it because staples are so cheap and most companies would probably charge double over a regular staple finisher.
