" Whatever money the Trump Administration gave away to its citizens in its tax cuts of 2017 it is now going to claw back with higher taxes disguised as tariffs. " When one door closes another door opens. Many US companies can benefit from the higher tariffs placed on goods from China. In fact I spoke to one of those companies last Thursday. I disagree that the tax cuts are going to claw their way back with higher taxes disguised as tariffs. In the end, what Trump wants is fair trade practice...

Re: MPS and Linux HELP!
So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

Go this via email today: Canon intends to make an offer of € 8.60 per Share for 100% of the outstanding Shares of Océ, representing a premium of 70% over Océ's stock price. There does not appear to be opposition to the deal either from European regulators or Océ board members. Océ will remain a separate legal entity as a Canon division, headquartered in Venlo (the Netherlands). The Océ brand is to be maintained and applied in all relevant markets. Océ will continue to lead its R&D and...

Re: Who really needs 250 GB in a Konica Minolta Hard Drive!
Almost no idea what you are talking about. In my experience, people who have workflows that would benefit from storing images to the copier also need a Fiery controller. In those types of worflows with high-res color images, its quite easy to wind up with very large files. I've seen files stored on the Fiery that were more than 1GB for a single file. So, in those specific types of workflow, yes, a larger hard drive is not only useful but necessary. For general office work, there is generally...

Re: "What is" Section 179
Leasing and Section 179 Did you know that your company can lease equipment and still take full advantage of the Section 179 deduction? In fact, leasing equipment and/or software with the Section 179 deduction in mind is a preferred financial strategy for many businesses, as it can significantly help with not only cash flow, but with profits as well. Non-Tax | Capital Lease The main benefit of a non-tax capital lease is that you can still take full advantage of the Section 179 Deduction, yet...

Take it from me. I've got a "selling manager" and he's a good sales person and a good manager, however I'm a firm beleiver that you can't do two things at once and excel with both of them. Re: JOINT STATEMENT BY SHARP ELECTRONICS CORPORATION AND EDWARD MCLAUGHLIN
I'm not completely convinced. Let's be honest, the growth for a manufacturer is not going to come from selling 45 ppm machines for $4,000 that the previous generation sold for $12,000. The growth comes in MPS, more specifically Sharp selling the services (it doesn't benefit them if a dealer put together a deal w/ Innovera consumables and LMS or Barrister on the break/fix). For Sharp to experience topline growth, they need to invest far more than they have been willing to in direct branches.

Probably a good move by both parties, I remember being told raw manufacturing costs of LED devices is less than traditional laser but agree there is very little if any benefit over laser. In the current market you need to provide end to end single function print & MFD in A4/A3 devices with the same user interface, drivers etc so I can see a single badge rapidly approaching. Also by the way HP devices are shipping with SSD's now

Re: What is the future for DigiDoc Flow, eCopy and NSI?
Toshiba seems to be taking the position of developing customized processors that are optimized for MFPs. The benefit is much smaller size, faster processing (measured by quicker FCOT) and lower power consumption. Many manufacturers use "off the shelf" PC processors due to lower cost and less complicated to develop. Xerox commonly convinces buyers to include the spec, "must have a minimum of a 1.2 Ghz processor" for their Black only copiers as a "knock-out" feature. The MFP industry will...

I'm seeing these at around $.015 mono and $.09 color which is a little higher than the C300/C400. But, it has a much smaller footprint that allows it to sit on a counter versus requiring a cabinet which is a major benefit. If you compare the hardware cost and CPP to competitive systems, it plays very well as a desktop unit.

I think the idea is that Streamlining the fleet and reducing the number of models is a benefit to the CUSTOMER, not just the vendor. So, in that case, it's not misleading to say "we'll manage your whole fleet" when it is the goal of both customer and vendor to consolidate down to just a couple of brands.

Again, you are stating as fact things that are only true for you or possibly only true in the UK. Over here, I haven't seen an early settlement discount in years. Many companies actually have a pre-payment penalty. The settlement added to the new lease that you speak of is only a benefit to the lease company when the new deal goes to the incumbent. And if there is no residual, why isn't the equipment free to the dealer at the back end? The price to the dealer whether contracted in advance or...
