John, The PrintCopy Tool compares pretty favorably to Plotworks. I attached two documents to this post. The Product Support Guide lists differences between the two products. The PowerPoint has screen shots of all the settings in PrintCopy Tool. I hope this helps.

I interact with the CRG on a regular basis and have had no indication of reduced staff, etc. I can’t comment on your issue with parts as we do not rely on xerox to send our parts, we stock and replenish out of our own warehouse. No substantial difference between xerox parts on b/o than Canon or HP. Not nearly as bad as Ricoh. We dropped the ricoh product years ago as we couldn’t handle the constant toner b/o issues. I can confirm a new offering. Xerox has a new program for signing on new dealers and not putting them in the Global or Agent bucket. These dealers can then be trained to use thier own technicians. I will check with my source about them using Xerox techs.

Oce did that 10 years ago and went bust. They didn't realise how much they relied on the monthly rental income and how inflexible third party leasing companies are when you want to upgrade mid term. The financing arm is usually the most profitable side of the business. High interest rate to customers, low rates for them and if the customer goes bust you generally get you equipment back and at the end of the contract you get your gear back.

So this effort is eliminate "carbon copied" work orders for service techs? What is wrong with the print "workflow" when the software application that generates a service form cannot be configured to print two of the same item? This is not an easy "printer-centric" fix. The application needs to either carry this information to the printer as part of the job or you must have some print-based software (Planet Press/Dataworks) telling the printer what to do. This my boo boo, I asked my sales manager about this application and the reps at Sage, all stated it could be done out of the box. As to what they were doing before, they did not have the accounting package and asked for a dot matrix printer for forms, I investigated got false info and sold them an 8200N stated it would staple the two pages. I mean a fuser is a fuser no matter who makes it I thought, but maybe a certain brand fuser has some kind of advantage? And taking it further, why? For Xerox, the 110ppm iGen4 is considered it's best color production press. The Color 800/1000 Press is however a great less-expensive option for many buyers. I have a lot of hands-on experience with this press, and I am still always blown away by the quality of the output from it.

Not very much, just what I'd read from press releases and such, and discussions with a couple of customers who use the Papercut NG product. From that, my impression of the product was that it was not as full-featured as some of our other cost accounting solutions, but as long as the customer did not need those "other" features, they were very happy using Papercut.

Both Canon and Xerox press releases seem to point towards future wide format devices using Memjet technology. I thought Xerox was getting out of the wide format market? All of this new activity cannot be good news for KIP when these products are actually ready for disribution. Toshiba seems to be the only vendor talking about Memjet technology in a MFP.
