Hey Art! I started using Aweber email software about 5 months ago. I send out a monthly newsletter with a customized template. People read it! Best part is that you always stay top of mind with your prospects. I actually exported my contact list from my CRM software and imported that into Aweber. Currently have about 100 prospects and customers in my email list. It's great! Much cheaper than a mailer.

There is friction feed with air separation on all the current production machines. So they have rollers that actually feed the paper and there are fans that blow the paper apart to help prevent multifeeding and it also helps if the paper sticks together and won't pull out of the tray.

What's really comical is while MFP vendors are touting the great features of their HIPAA complaint systems, walk through a typical sales office and I guarantee you'll be able to find a lease with a personal guarantee and a person's SS# left out somewhere on a desk.

Hey Jeff, Art's Box Approach (I believe) is using 4 different methods of communication: Phone Call LinkedIn Email In-Person Cold Call You "box" the prospect in until they finally give you the time of day. Using all 4 methods of communication ensures that you are optimizing your ability to reach the DM via his preferred method.

Okay, thanks! I have the phone call, Email, In-person aspects covered. I use LinkedIn to find the right person—I don’t use it for communicating with them yet. I’ve tried to get referrals from people who are linked to them, but no success with that. My sales rep uses LinkedIn to continue my efforts. JeffR

I agree to a certain extent, Art, but at the same time, our industry has a deservedly bad reputation for being overly-persistent in efforts to reach prospects. The way in which people evaluate products, services, vendors, etc. has completely changed due to the wealth of information that is available online. Many buyers now want to know what they want (especially in up & down the street accounts) before they ever agree to talk to a salesperson. There are only so many hours in a day, &...

Good stuff Darrell: I started my own email newsletter to my existing accounts and prospects. However, what I did first was to ask them permission, meaning, are they are ok with being on the list. I started this three months ago and the open rate is hair over 60% which is pretty awesome. So, far, I've only got 60 clients and prospects on the list, but, that will grow in time, in fact one of the blog articles already turned in to a 25k opp. Art

Could agree more to the cold calling as well as the planning and preparation. I can send an intro letter in the mail, but if I take it to the reception desk to personally deliver, chances improve. A planned segment of cold calling/hot knocks along with a few scheduled appts makes for a good day. That cold call is your first impression and make the reception person or initial contact a VITO!
