Re: Will outside Sales Rep's go away?
Monte I don't believe you are paranoid! The ecommerce is a real threat for sales peeps. In order to over come that we as sales peeps will need to wear additional hats to better serve out clients. Those as a trusted adviser, become more knowledgeable with cloud services, IT services, MSP, MSSP. It's my belief that we will evolve from just print to be able to consult on all aspects of business office. I would love to hear from others on this as well, this is a great subject for discussion.

Yes, it was stated that MNS is only used by copier dealers and should be referenced to what you described. TY for the awesome reply!!

So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. Not only did Office Machines Company (a SHARP Dealer) lose out to IKON, the following Ricoh Family Group Dealers lost out to IKON: Lanier = Advanced Imaging Solutions Ricoh = Applied Imaging Savin = Adams Remco This trend will continue, wherein more and more IKON wins are realized at the expense of the Independent Dealers.

I understand that these dealers are part of the RFG, but they are also dual line dealers. Advanced Imaging recently taking on Canon and Adams Remco using Toshiba, especially for bid situations. Not as familiar with Applied Imaging, but I believe they are Canon also.

They [the samsung rep]say when you look at total volumes, 11x17 only accounts for like 3% of the global print volume. What I've seen is that its not accurate to extrapolate that only 3% of customers need it, it means that there is a wider group of customers that use it outside AEC, but they do a tiny amount of it. Even so, once you've got a feature that is used, even marginally,...

Re: A4 Page Volumes
The most important question to ask is "how much do you copy 11x17"? If the answer is none, then the next question is "how often do you print 11x17"? When the answer is quite often, well A3 is then a no brainer, however if the answer is rarely, then I'll bundle an 11x17 laser or ink printer. Based on under 10K per month, A4 will save the customer on the TCO over the term of a 5 year lease.
