Management is now to the point that they are asking me weekly to update my forecast, it's getting to be a real drag going over every account on the opportunity list and what happened with them on a weekly basis. Isn't that the reason why I keep my CRM updated on a daily basis?

Re: top challenges faced by sales reps on a day to day basis

txeagle24 ·
Keeping the forecast updated is part of our job; they need to know what that looks like on a regular basis. If you're a proven producer (which you are), they shouldn't feel the need to ask for updates on every account. That's nitpicking.

This was an article from the NY times over the weekend! SHIBATA-MACHI, Japan — When the ground shook violently on the afternoon of March 11, the ceiling collapsed in part of the huge Ricoh copier factory here, exposing the vents and wires above. The offices at the Ricoh plant near Sendai are still in disrepair; workers have focused on restoring the factory and production. The ceiling is still not fixed. But employees are back at their posts, working under temporary lighting and wearing hard...

Gentlemen, my VP of Sales implemented a policy of a monthly equipment forecast w/ product codes so that he could properly inventory those forecasted products so we didn't have the typical month-end scramble for equipment. We did this 3 months ago and so far (knock on wood) it has worked very well. Have we still scrambled for equipment for a deal that "just came up" and wasn't forecasted for that month - you bet we have. For the most part it has been very successful. We are a small dealership where we do not have the luxury of having machines in the demo room to show. Fortunately, we have a relationship with the customer that we can sell off of a brochure, and then order the unit, which usually comes from TN. The majority of the time I will buy from Savin, instead of Ricoh, because of not only price to the dealer, but turn-a-round time. I can sympathisize with the problems other dealers are having with inventory. We are lucky if we have a machine to...

I prefer weekly so that it is harder to come up with excuses for failure. My number, in this rural territory is 80 face-to-face calls per week...a number that is doable even if you're sick a...

Re: Global Scan NX Server 32 Question

VinceMcHugh ·
Art, I never did a lot with Global Scan when I was at Ricoh Business Systems \ Boston but I have done some work with OCR and large format. It is not an easy task. The amount of data that has to be processed, especially since most of the Wide Format is drawings and not text. If you can set a specific zone to OCR maybe it would work better. But at least the last time I looked at it, it didn't turn out very successful. Again, I didn't use GlobalScan, so maybe it will turn out better for you.

Hi Art, The only piece of software that I can think can do this is eCopy ShareScan. The back end is completely customizable, so you should be able to configure every scan to auto rotate before getting dumped into the watch folder. Most manufacturers are eCopy authorized, so I would talk to your dealer account manager to confirm this.

Not only employees getting screwed so are Xerox Vendors The layoffs are occurring around the country at Xerox' Global Imaging sites, so the impact is wider than just in Rochester. And now they are not paying vendors within terms, any vendor without contracted terms are being paid in 60-90 days. While at the same time Xerox is pressuring their sales teams to help collect money from their customers. Don't be fooled by John V, anyone below his reverse Robin Hood group of merry men are at risk.
