Montecore, I have spent many years in sales and began networking our systems almost 10 years ago. Currently, I handle all of our connectivity and solutions for our company and I have connected and troubleshot hundreds, maybe thousands of computers. I agree, a technician can and should be able to resolve this problem. However, first it is necessary to identify the problem. This requires ruling out what it is not. Of course, hindsight is 20/20. If I tell you this story, it seems simple.

lately sharp stock in on the rebound with the yen dropping in value and statement that they expect to turn a profit for the last quarter of the fiscal year along with the money from qualcom. I'm in sales for a small copier company. We are paid $0.15 per mile. (We can claim the rest of the allowed amount on our taxes.) Regardless of the compensation plan currently in place, the high gas prices probably negate the original intent of the company. Most sales personnel are probably spending more than their compensation plan allows, especially if you take into account the maintenance (oil changes, tires, etc.) and the wear-and-tear on the car. End users will not embrace a solution that asks them to enter all the meta data themselves nor should they. It is simply not productive. In a busy environment you cannot have people fumbling with a virtual keyboard to input data for a scan job while the line behind them grows. This is where software comes into play which will "read" the scanned image and capture relevant metadata to attach to the document for indexing in the DMS. Art, there are only 433,000 people making $1,000,000 or more per year in the US in 2011 (321,000 in 2008). This is income that is taxed not net worth which isn't taxed, earnings are taxed. A National Sales Tax is NOT a fair tax as it inordinately places a heavier burden on Middle Income and below since they spend all they make. As a consultant to the industry I have seen all manner of processes used to get calls to and from techs. At the very least you should be looking to use email to communicate with the field. I suggest email over texting due to the character limits on texts. Plus email provides a better archive of the communications. Most of the major ERP systems for Dealers have this capability.
