Re: Need help with Pay for Print Solution
If I am hearing this right, you have two issues...USB access and driverless/wireless printing. Others have USB printing, we don't. However, we have HotSpot Printers that no one else has. http://www.printeron.net/landing/ricoh/Ricoh.html I am going to assume that you are not familier with this. HotSpot printers allow you to print from anything that has email access including iPhones or BlackBerries. You don't need drivers and you don't need to be on the network. You just email the file to a...

Re: Color MFP Trends, Tactics, etc
I have one of these in the P4P market, after 4 months all seems well and customer is satisfied with media offereing and quality. The one thing that has changed for this unit, since its the same engine as the MPC6000 and MPC7000 is that default from the factory is 11x17 single click and lower consumable costs. Making an inroad will depend on how dealers will position this unit, dealers more than ever can now be competitive with single click 11x17, and if you're going to play in the P4P you...

Re: Ricoh Introduces the Aficio MP 2851 and MP 3351 Digital Imaging Systems
Interesting that Ricoh will keep the MP 2550B & MP 3350B in the product line active and only launch the new MFPs in SP and SPF configurations. Do you think that the B-suffix versions will phase out? Anyone know if this will also happen with the MP 4001 and Aficio MP 5001?

Re: Ricoh Introduces the Aficio MP 2851 and MP 3351 Digital Imaging Systems
I went to Aficio League InfoCenter and found everything on the new models. The only pricing that has been updated is the MedAssets pricing which also includes pricing for the MP4001SP/MP5001SP so their launch is obviously imminent.

Re: New Ricoh 4410SPF "brainshark" review
These require significantly less service/support than the Ricoh table-top machines. The opportunity to make money on these is by selling them to replace printers as part of an MPS engagement & making your money on the aftermarket. Also, if you're replacing an MP2000 machine, and the customer doesn't need 11 x 17, they would be thrilled with this machine, and you could make solid margin because of the price spread between the MP2000 and this unit. I'll be curious to see how the Ricoh...

Re: Padded Lease Rates
Sometimes the gap between the dealer rate and the reps rate is due to a lower rate negotiated by the dealer in return for using ABC Leasing vs XYZ Leasing or it may be tied to a promised annual volume that if unmet, results in a chargeback. Regardless, it's not wrong or immoral. It is what it is, just like cost markup or delivery charge or whatever. Now I admit I'm a bit of a terrorist when it comes to conventional logic, but I have always felt that my Aficio League points were dollars that...

Re: Points added to lease rate factors
Art, you've got to look at it this way. there is almost no residual on a machine that is 5 years old these days. Most 5 year old digitals are junk. Would you sell an Aficio 400 or 500 now? They're only 5 years old. The machines on 3 or 4 year leases do have value. You and I are both selling used 550's and 650's. They still are decent machines. In a year or so, however, they too will be basically junk. So from the leasing company's view, a 5 year FMV lease is a write off when they get it...

Unfortunately, due to the fact our 1055 does not offer scanning, we are at a disadvantage, but only on the surface. If you have rapport with the office manager and have not dug into their applications deeply, DO SO! I have been very successful with productivity chart comparisons when up against the competition with the same engine speed. By dropping down, you may be able to justify the 1045, and it may not be that much of a difference. For example, look for user walk up for single copies,...

Re: xerox dc425ac
Here's a comparison chart. I could not find a 425 AC from Xerox but I found a 425DC which is what I think you are looking at. Aside from the fact that you are much lower in price, there are a number of other advantages. For the price, if that is not the issue, you may want to throw a Gestetner DSc224 in to the mix (Aficio 1224c) and give them some color that they won't get with the Xerox! I also included this in my comparison sheet for you.
