Re: Things getting weird for Xerox Dealers
Very strange. I interact with the CRG on a regular basis and have had no indication of reduced staff, etc. I can’t comment on your issue with parts as we do not rely on xerox to send our parts, we stock and replenish out of our own warehouse. No substantial difference between xerox parts on b/o than Canon or HP. Not nearly as bad as Ricoh. We dropped the ricoh product years ago as we couldn’t handle the constant toner b/o issues. Parts I can somewhat understand, but toner? Hope that your...

Re: Question: Xerox technicians
I can confirm a new offering. Xerox has a new program for signing on new dealers and not putting them in the Global or Agent bucket. These dealers can then be trained to use thier own technicians. I will check with my source about them using Xerox techs.

This seems wrong on so many levels.... 16,000 printers? 5 machines per site?? 10 year contract??? I feel as if a DMS / workflow solution would have saved them so much more.

Re: MPS and Linux HELP!
So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

Re: Xerox explores sale of leasing finance unit: sources
Oce did that 10 years ago and went bust. They didn't realise how much they relied on the monthly rental income and how inflexible third party leasing companies are when you want to upgrade mid term. The financing arm is usually the most profitable side of the business. High interest rate to customers, low rates for them and if the customer goes bust you generally get you equipment back and at the end of the contract you get your gear back.

This was emailed to me from a P4P'er who wishes to remain anonymous. Art, This past April I had the opportunity to leave the industry but I have kept an eye on it since then. This topic definitely perked my interest because I feel like I was both the beneficiary and victim of a Gross Profit Comp Plan at my last gig. I have been on both sides of this topic, Revenue & GP plans, and I never made more than $51K in a given year and yet I was always 100% of plan. My final year under this GP...

I average about 120 calls per week, some are follow ups, but most are appointment calls, or just trying to get the right information that I need to make the appointment call. I then schedule...

The SERI dries the ink by passing the paper and ink from the duplicator under a UV light. This process also allows Ricoh to now release "transparent inks", meaning CMYK printing can be accomplished. Total at $3.69 per gallon is $268.36 per month for gas! Cell phone is about $120 per month, used mainly for business, thus I'm at $388.36 and then an additional $50 per month for tolls which would top me out at $438.36 per month. Add in oil change every two months at $30 (15 per month), tires every 30...

Based on a "d" size drawing which is 24x36 or 6 sqaure feet. The cost for ink is about .42 cents give or take for more or less coverage. I think the...

First is this your actual reply to the account looking at thoseToshiba products listed (455 & 305)? If yes and they have a great history with the Toshiba product, telling them there a "bottom dweller" would make anyone think that you're only wanting to sell them what YOU'RE offering. The models they requested are older models of Toshiba and who knows if they've worked well for them or not. Also if you research the Okidata product, most of their MFP's are based on the Toshiba platform now...
