Re: The A4 Challenge or Opportunity

fisher ·
In my experience A4 machines are as much or even more hassle than an A3 machine to install and train which I do myself for the customer but my income off of the sale of the A4 device is a fraction of what it would have been had I sold an A3. Beyond that most A4 machines lack a document feeder built to handle the page volumes of walk up copying and scanning my customers do. At the end of the day I have to make a living so I spend my time on A3 opportunities.

Art, When you get the chance take a look at the iQueue software that comes with this system. It is a very complete package which includes the ability to automatically recognize Spot colors, and allows you to manipulate them. This software will output to just about any device you can load a print driver for. I tested it on a Fiery driven device with excellent results.

Re: To Ricoh "What I Want for Christmas"

txeagle24 ·
The best thing Ricoh could give us is advanced scanning functionality as a standard feature. To be able to navigate to whatever network folder a user wants would be huge, as would the ability to scan to Word or Excel. Canon already has these features, so we are at a huge price disadvantage if it is functionality a customer needs since we have to add ICE (which has a less-than-desirable UI) or NSI AutoStore.

Re: "MFP Wars" Hi Speed A3 MFP's vs A4 MFP's

fisher ·
I've always sold A4 machines where they are a fit. There are very few A4 devices that offer a low CPC. Some carry CPCs that are very high. A bigger issue in many placements is that the Automatic Document Feeders on most A4 machines are not robust enough to meet the copy scan and fax demand. Many are complete garbage. In fact I've seen the quality of the Domument Feeders on A4 units go backwards in the last couple of years as if the document feeder is an afterthought or it is where the...

New Ricoh MP C501SP "A4 or A3 or a New Hybrid MFP?"

The first time I heard about the new Ricoh MP C501SP was a pic that a Print4Pay Hotel member posted on this site. That pic came from the recent Ricoh Convergence in Las Vegas a few months ago. I took a good long look at the device that's positioned as an 50 page per minute color A4 device. 6 Reasons Why Canon's New 715iF A4 MFP Kicks Butt

However, the introduction of the Canon iF715 imageRUNNER ADVANCE Series has me chomping at the bit for a 75pp A4 device that I could sell. The Canon 715iF has an "up to" print speed of an amazing 75 pages per minute! The reason I mentioned "up to" is because many MFP's will grind and run slower with different files.
