One of my large medical accounts contacted me about this one. They were totally freaked out over this potential threat even though they had no machines in their fleet with the vulnerability. Meanwhile you could walk to almost any fax machine in any of their locations and grab patient info from the fax trays.

Do the same math on the 2045e vs the 2075. You get $260 vs. $373. That's the same $100 difference you got on the printers. I really don't think the methodology you are using is a good judge of value. Compare the price you pay for the extra 15cpm you get on the 2090 vs the 2075. The point is, you are paying for alot more than just speed. That having been said, I agree with you that they are overpriced...I just don't agree with the methodology you used to arrive at your conclusion.

Some quick questions that you may or may not be able to answer: 1.) The 1224/1232 were mono-component...are these also? 2.) The 3200 series has units from 24cpm up to the 60cpm 3260C. Were you given any idea what was going to be structurally or mechanically different from bottom to top. Surely these aren't all going to be the same box running at different speeds. 3.) I've been in copier biz since 1985 have seen LOTS of copiers come and go, some terrible (somebody mentioned the Ricoh 5560 the other day) some great (1022/1027,1015,2018,/551/700/1060/1075/2060/2075). ALL the new equipment is a billion times better than the equipment in the old days. A BILLION. Really , the Ricoh equipment line is amazing. I also received this in an email about the roll feeder: We did an install of a 3601 a few years ago at one of his customers, and plopped it right on top of the old 240 roll feeder that they had...with no trouble at all. Hope this is all you'll need to convince "the man" !

and this: As far as "proof" that it will work...... I have been a Ricoh WF dealer for 15 years. I have installed the 2400, 3600 and the 3601 on top of 240 roll feeders. They all work. The connectors are exactly the same. The printer does not "know" what roll feed is underneath it.

The attached file is crude and probably in need of updating but it illustrates the progression of model numbers when you read it from left to right. It is incorrect to consider the C3001 to be the replacement for the C3000. The C3000 went to the C3300 which went to the C3501. The C3001 is the newer version of the C2500 which became the C2800. Try having the customer re-save the document with the 2075 RPCS as the default printer driver. If the document was created in Word and printed on another printer, those settings sometimes override the print driver setting.

Encryption is available on the new 2051/2075 series, plus other security features. The encryption is 54 bit, and only while the documents are on the hard drive. Ricoh is leaning hard towards SECURITY.

This is from one of my e:mails from David Callahan... The Aficio 1055 is currently scheduled to be replaced in the November time frame, as is the Aficio 1060/75. The products in November will be the Aficio 2051/2060/2075, all built with the same engine and specs. All systems will have scanning available with user based authentication capabilities, Scan to Folder and Scan to FTP as well as E-mail. I do not have any further details at this time. See if you can do a partial upgrade to keep on just the 700 with the SR85 and return the other 700 to the leasing company. Then put in a new 2075 to replace the returned machine. Just a thought.

If using an HP Driver is the only stipulation, why not just use the HP driver to print to the 2075 S/P? It's not as good but seems to satisfy corporates demands.

We just found out that the C730DN LED Color A3 Printer has been pulled from the market. They won't tell us why. We have had no problems with the ones we have out. Anyone out there have any additional information about this?
