Re: Ricoh 2035 vs Mita 4035
Actually, the official PM cycle for the 3035 is 400K while the 4035(3530) and 5035(4030) are 500K. However, "everyone" does the 3035(2530) at 500K since everything about the three models is identical including the PM kit. The 4530 and 5530 PM cycle is 400K. The really nice thing is that the PM kits for the 3035-5035 consist of modules (throw away) that you just swap out. They are guaranteed for the life of the PM. At first, Kyocera was very liberal with this warranty but lately they've been...

This Week in the Copier/Office Equipment Industry 15 Years Ago (Last Week of February 2004)
Just a short story from an order I had last week. The client was an existing account, almost five years ago it was net new. Thus I had some promo's I could throw at the client in order to secure the order. Now it comes time for the renewal almost 5 years later, there are some payments left in the lease. There is no way I can sell them at the same lease price per month. I also made an early mistake on the pricing when I met with the client. I never presented the lease price for the new...

This Week in the Copier/Office Equipment Industry 10 Years Ago Fourth Week of December 2005
Ten years ago, duplicators were still relevant. Today, not so much, I think I sold two of them this year. Enjoy these threads from ten years ago on the p4photel forums! Re: Riso MZ790 info Old Glory · 1/4/06 9:28 AM biggest objection to Ricoh is that they are trying to compete in a multi-color arena with next to no colors available standard and no color chart to show what the output is going to look like. I just sold a JP8500 with TCII and 5 drums and we are having a...

This Week in the Copier/Office Equipment Industry 10 Years Ago First Week of January 2006
Hey, here's a good question for you. Do any of us carry around demo originals anymore? I can't remember that last time I even looked for one. Back in the day, if you didn't carry demo originals with you were probably not selling much. When it came to copying documents from the glass, I used to ask the customer for their originals instead of using mine. Great for the demo, because they got to see real time quality of their copies. NEW...

Ten Copier & MFP Proposals for March 2015
Thanks to the help from a few Print4Pay Hotel members, we're able to give our members access to some of the copier & MFP quotes that were presented in March of 2015. I had a great chuckle at some of the Sharp proposals. One, was the base quarterly charge of $30 per quarter for 3,000 pages. Overages were then billed at .01 for black. It's like WTF? It's only $120 for the year, just bill the annual cost!!You'll save the customer money and time...

This Week in the Copier Industry 15 Years Ago, The Third Week in April 2003
What's interesting in this weeks threads? Seems 15 years ago mighty Xerox also had their fair share of problems. Interesting times indeed! Enjoy the threads from ten years ago this week! Troubled Xerox 4/21/037:29 PM with a mountain of debt and some tough competition from some very strong rivals — Hewlett-Packard, Canon and Ricoh , to name a few — not to mention a dire slump in business spending.
