5100/5110 replaces 550/700, 6502/8002 replaces 6501/7501. And with this model there are actually some significant differences between the pro and office models so don't just sell them the pro one because it must be better. For instance the warm up time is 60 seconds for office and 5 minutes for pro.

Re: Fiery Question for all

Art, CWS is a closed system that ONLY connects to Fiery Rips. Since it can only connect to Fiery Rips there is no option to print a job to anything else. In fact the jobs that you see in CWS actually abide in a Fiery rip that you are connecting too. If you are connected to multiple Fiery Rips on the same CWS you can in some cases move jobs from one Fiery to anther. But I have never seen a non fiery PS3 printer connected to CWS. You may be thinking about the MicroPress which had the option to...

From: Lee Sent: 5/10/2002 11:11 PM If the person you want to email is set up in ScanRouter Pro as one of the 200 users, their name will show on the display of the machine. You could select them and the email server would route the scan to them via email. I worked with an installation on a 220 with a Japanese company in Smyrna, TN. The Pro server was in New York. All I did on my end was tell it where to look for the server and we were in business. Thanks! Lee

From: Graham Sent: 9/6/2002 8:50 AM Ok...Here goes.... First, on Ted's issue, DURING the initial install of Scan Router Admin, you have to choose RUN AS SERVICE and it will start up and run in the background all the time when the computer is re-booted. I have done this on 98/ME machines, NT 4.0 Server and Workstation, Win2K server and Pro, and WinXP. If you don't run it as a service, you will from time to time have it arbitrarily (sp?) suspend services which is a real pain. On Lee's issue,...

Backup all of the settings and accounts, uninstall Scan Router Admin then Reinstall and restore your backup. Choosing Run as Service also allows NT and 2000 Server and XP Pro to route scans when you are physically logged off of that...

Re: Scan Router Question

Lee ·
There are a couple of settings in the machine: First, go to service programs and set service program 5974 to 1. This tells the machine that you have the Pro version. Power cycle the machine and you should now have some more options in user tools, system settings under file transfer I think. One of those settings will tell it to forward faxes with a subcode to SR Pro. Sorry I can't be a bit more specific. Hope this helps and let me know if you need further assistance! Thanks! Re: 1045 and Scan to Email

ScanRouter Pro will allow you to scan to email. You can program in up to 200 addresses. The major limitation here is that they have to be pre-programmed, you can't walk up to the machine and type one in (like you can on a 1060) Thanks! Lee

Re: 1045 and Scan to Email

Graham ·
If you need the speed of the 1045 for the copy side than you're stuck with Global or SR Pro, if you can slow things up a bit, and maybe sell the idea of a little color to make up for the speed differential than try selling the new 1232 with a print/scan option. This will scan to e-mail just like the 1060. We got a 1224 and 1232 in the showroom this week and they seem pretty solid.

Re: Scan Router and POP3

Graham ·
POP3 accounts are for recieving e-mail. If Scan Router PRO tries to recieve e-mail to deliver to a fax or something like that it will need POP3 information. Similar to the NIC fax unit on the 5510NF. If you don't need it to do POP3 recieveing and can turn it off, do that. The other option is to set up a "ghost" e-mail account to send the POP information to. SOME ISP's require POP authentication prior to allowing you to send SMTP e-mail. Some require POP and SMTP authentication and others...

Re: Scan Router and POP3

Thanks. We were playing around today and trying to figure out WHY SR Pro required a POP3 since it only sends email. We finally found it. One of the options underDelivery Defaults is to have the Sender (if known) notified of a failed delivery. With the box checked, if the person at the machine selects a Sender that has an email address programmed, SR Pro will receive the failed delivery notice and forward it on to the Senders email. Thanks! Lee

Only way to do it is either using Scan Router Pro, OR you can scan to file and email from the PC. You have to go with a 1224/1232 or a 1060-75 or get in to a 3900NF or 5510NF to do actual scan to e-mail ad-hoc on the fly. Thanks Graham

We have a 40-system install of Global Scan and the need for training is minimal for the Ricoh reps and the end-user. Global Scan has fewer options for customizing a scanned document compared to Scanrouter Lite or Pro. Also, the options for sending are found in one spot and not broken out into several tabs. Operating GS is easy, the issues I have are with the software itself. There are at least two glitches with the software or MFP firmware that Ricoh has yet to fix. Our customer has had the...

One other note, the E-810 has been replaced by the E-820 which is a more robust rip. Faster processor, more memory, bigger hard drive. The E-710 is really not even a consideration if the customer is handling many graphics files. Anyone considering a E-710 shouldn't be buying a 6513. Re: Scan Router Pro vs Canon e Copy

Art Post (Guest) ·
Using Scan Router (Lite or Pro), it does not get any easier than pressing the Scanner Function Key, then selecting your destination and start. Three key strokes to send a document! Don't think any other MFP can do it more simply. With eCopy there may be a log-on, then you have to scan your document, because they make you preview it, then you open up a mail client to select your recipients ... too many key strokes.

I may be missing something but Scan Router Lite does not support scan to email so I don’t know how you could program email destinations. Scanrouter pro does allow you to make “quick dial keys” to email addresses All the systems that have embedded scan to email can have “email quick dial keys” set-up via the control panel or the web monitor. The 2022/27 is currently the only model that allows you to do both scan to folder and scan to email destination at the same time.

to batch plot on the embedded controller - you can use webprint for TIFF and PLT files ONLY. You can batch PDF's with DTB lite if a FULL version of Abobe is loaded on the same workstation as DTB, or if using DTB pro. You can drag PDF's directly into the print driver (however, if you need 3 sets, drag 3 times...) You can load KIP request ( a free download from kipusa.com) on the customers workstation, and use that, pointed to the TCP IP address of the Ricoh... (NOT RECOMMENDED!!!)
