Re: Will outside Sales Rep's go away?

John Saramak ·
In 10 years there WILL be outside sales reps, and many of them will be the committed, true professionals of today. The E-Commence platform have changed our business and how we do it. For example gone are the days when you could duck into a 15 story office building and cold call. But electronic format can still be your attention getter and facilitate your efforts in creating interest. I can buy anything on line and cut out the sales person. Try doing your own investing and getting the right...

JS, I am doing this for many accounts. The value prop for the customer is the ability to browse to folder from the MFP. I mention none of the other features unless asked. We install to the customers server, I build in 3 hours of pro services and then bundle the entire cost in the system. My selling advantage is that with my system you can browse to folder from the MFP easily. Art

Although the C900 looks like a solid first step into color production, there may be some growing pains (outside of IKON) due to dealers' lack of production experience/contacts and printers' existing brand loyalty/hesitations about buying a 1st generation system. I have one of these in the P4P market, after 4 months all seems well and customer is satisfied with media offereing and quality. The one thing that has changed for this unit, since its the same engine as the MPC6000 and MPC7000 is that default from the factory is 11x17 single click and lower consumable costs. Making an inroad will depend on how dealers will position this unit, dealers more than ever can now be competitive with single click 11x17, and if you're going to play in the P4P you...

The new Pro Series Production Printers are successors to the highly successful Digital Document Publisher models, the DDP70e and the DDP92. 5050: Search the internet for "GBC Pro Click" and you should see a very, very similar example. Advantage of this binding is the ability to re-open and change/insert/delete previously bound pages from the "book". I don't like the resulting bind as much as I do the GBC Comb (Cerlok) Binding but the "Pro Click" bind is a finished set when removed from the device.

PPBG is planning on launching the Ricoh Pro C720 Series on February 1st. The Pro C720 has the same mainframe as the C900 and it's accessories are identical. This is a great addition to our product line, because it fills the gap between the Ricoh Pro C550/700EX and the Ricoh Pro C900. We really didn't have a product to compete directly against the bizhub PRO 6501 and this provides us with a much better offering. The only differences between the configurations of the Ricoh Pro C720 and the...

Re: Does your Copier Service Contract still reflect 1970's Analog Copiers?

Over my 15 years as a Sales Manager to 23+ independent dealers, I have seen many situations where dealers simply has far too simplistic service contracts that had not been updated ever. They mostly involve billable Pro Services, unstable Power Supply, two competitive vendors trying to flip each other's Service Contracts and Fuel Surcharges. Ratio America which advertises on the P4P forums is selling and support the ratio controller (http://plotbasepm.com/rip_cube) with the rip cube. 3. I think Ricoh recognizes the embedded is not sufficient but is tied legal on their actions. Also, Ricoh is still provide tech support for the controllers that...

I think the local dealers biggest advantage against the National vendors is flexibility. Dealers naturally have much shorter chains of command due to having far less employees. Therefore, dealers can make quicker decisions. The National Vendors are always going to have the advantage of price and a lesser concern for profitability. You have a good point with the dual componet color from Canon. Many of these entities will file for bankruptcy, therefore much of this debt will have to be written off anyway and the losses go far beyond any single community as you well know.
