Re: COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Forty-Three of Sales
I just created my own YouTube channel doing product videos with future ones planned mostly focussed on MS365. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OotckdOtEg ... and I am working Linkedin a lot more in different ways. Most of the people I know say they have never gotten a lead from Linkedin. They think of this site as a static business card talking about who they are and not what they can do for the customer. They never post to Linkedin. Like most things, Linkedin requires almost daily work to...

SSG that's an awesome video! You can send links to clients, and direct them to your channel. It's a virtual demo that keeps on giving. Kudos I have some of the same issues with getting appointments through Linkedin, however I know of several peeps that use Linkedin as their only source for prospecting and they are doing well. I will keep working it since I have a Navigator account now

Re: Toshiba now has tier based CPC's?
I pretty much never see anyone proposing Toshiba color equipment, so I haven't seen this. There are a few Kyocera dealers I've seen proposing their tiered color billing capabilities. What shocks me is that no Ricoh dealers have started marketing this. The Cxx02 series & Cxx03 series have the ability to report multiple tiers of color coverage for billing purposes, but in a market with 7 dealers + RBS selling RFG products I have yet to see a single dealer pushing it.

Re: Toshiba e-Studio Erasable Toner 4508LP Questions
There is no charge to erase pages. A 3rd paper drawer would probably be useful. Letter/ Legal/ Erasable. The number of erased pages are recorded and displayed in the useful Paper Re-use Report which describes sheets of paper saved, CO2 saved and money saved. The Eco-MFP can erase pages at 17.5 sheets per minute.

Yup, it's a pretty BIG Hammer! I heard a radio report that the US trade debt rose significantly in July. I'm thinking what you stated is that "many of the manufacturers have stuffed thier warehouses". That's probably why we haven't seen anything to date with increases.

Re: PPDM from Ricoh, Questions
Hey all. I am one of the support reps from Ricoh for PPDM. The product is FABULOUS. The roll out has just started in the field, really, and we are learning the product. The only real problem we have been having is with the server. Those have been IIS issues, not PPDM issues. Also, watch for firewall conflicts. The product allows for BATES stamps, scan to almost anything, and 99% OCR. Once it is up, it appears highly stable. If it crashes, removal can be tricky, but we have a fix for that.

Re: CBS NEWS REPORT ON COPIER SECURITY
I think that many used copiers available for resale still have the original dealer sticker on them. This would be the first step a lawyer would take to attach liability. It seems odd that either 3/4 or 4/4 of the copiers that the CBS reporter picked were Toshiba. Balanced reporting would suggest he should have bought a mix of machines. It also seems very long odds that 3/4 copiers the data expert examined had large amounts of personal data on them. The report seems a little contrived to me.

Most copier brands now include the ability to email or fax the meter reads and service codes on a regular basis. I have never had a customer concern about this. Every Monday AM, I get a report from all of my recent copier installs. I have gotten pretty good at skimming these reports, seeing any problems and proactively dispatching a service tech. Customer really like the idea that I am electronically watching their copier.

These are all very interesting comments. Not sure if anyone has seen the videos and new interface on the color systems. Watch those videos on youtube and see yes that is a cool interface but is it really practical? From talking with others this is a very confusing non-friendly user interface compared to the previous MX color series. I think this is going to hurt this color series in the long run. We have used DocRecord internally at our dealership for the last two years. I like it; I find it pretty easy to administer and our end users think it's intuitive and friendly. I can't speak to integration with your specific platform. But, for automation it's just a matter of setting up a process with a watch folder through DocRecord's Automation Server tool, and programming a one-touch button on your MFP that scans into the watch folder. PS - we're a Konica Minolta dealer. :-)
