Re: Color Cost Per Copy
Have fun with this one....lol took me several tests to figure out. From what I can tell, you are correct in your assumption of process black. That is exactly how it occurs. As soon as the color device sees a color page, from then on they are process black. Again, the best that I can tell. The workaround for this involves batch mode. Let me know if you find anything different. BTW, This was brought up to me by a customer.....UUUGGHHHH!

Re: Document Management Presentation
The Ricoh Solutions Group ought to be able to help you. They have a number of online demos at http://www.tscweb.net/sdg/demosricohdealer.html . The main Ricoh web site has solutions "Quick Tours" at http://www.ricoh-usa.com/products/solutions/qtgallery.asp . 1-2 minute videos instead of PowerPoints. That format might be more attention-getting. Have fun!

Re: MP C6004SP & Fax Routing to Folder
The short answer is yes. It would have to be initiated by someone at the point of failure. I would teach someone there how to change things in the event that the server goes down with the intent of switching things back once the server is back on line. The incoming fax can either go to the Fax Document Server or there is such a thing as "Locked Fax". Like Locked Print, it stores the incoming fax in the copier harddrive until an authorized code is entered to release them. Don't ask me how to...

Re: Fax Workflow with HIPAA
is there any type of link or article that you can refer me to? I mean, how do I prove that to an attorney?
Reply
Re: Fax Workflow with HIPAA
The real question is do they care. Try going to the OmTool AccuRoute site. There you will see Omtool's justification for their software using HIPPA compliance. It refers to hospitals but the concept is the same. You might even get your attorneys to consider OmTool AccuRoute to automatically route the incoming faxes based on their workflow.

Re: Why I'm So Past Reading Sales Blogs on Linkedin
While that blog has some valid points, much like Art, I'm more inclined to think "when's the last time that writer took off their headset and actually pushed some pavement or had a face to face meeting?". While there is something to be said about not hard closing all the time, it's got to be done but with some skill. In my nine years doing this, each sale is different in that there are some customer that want to be hard closed and others that have their own way of making a decision. One...

What Do You Do To Make Calling Fun?
Always have a plan, I will review my CRM and plan 20-25 stop ins (cold calls) in advance. These are usually accounts where I can't get any traction via phone or email. Group them by their location. I start with going to the furthest location first and then make my way back the office. Know what types of accounts that you are calling on and have some type of vertical hand out. Make it fun! The law of commonality will work well, what will everyone have in common that day? The weather is a good...

Pasco man accused of counterfeiting currency using printer at public library
Levy James Newberry was in need of money so he took matters into his own hands. He made it on a printer at the New Port Richey Public Library, detectives say. Newberry, 28, was arrested on Sept. 1, but his case is just the tip of a big green iceberg, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. Thanks in part to a burgeoning opioid epidemic and technology that makes it easier to print fake money, investigations into counterfeit operations in Pasco County have jumped by about 50 percent...

A Few Copier Vignettes from the Late Eighties & Nineties

Below is probably one of the most mis-understood printers (well not actually a printer) of our time. The Seri Print 25 was a really cool in-line attachment to the Ricoh duplicators. You would replace the Ricoh ink with Seri Ink, and then you'd be able to print on any gloss coatings. The Seri printer used a UV light to cure the ink on the gloss coat. Alas the Seri is no more and Ricoh is just about out of the duplicator industry now. Enjoy the threads from ten years ago this week! Konica...
