Re: RISO ME9450 Questions
Aside from RISO's SF5130, all of their duplicators now come standard with a network card for network printing. However, printing from MAC OS requires ordering a Mac Driver which requires a license key ordered from RISO - doesn't cost anything to order. Also, RISO's Mac Drivers are always behind with current Mac OS versions. They haven't released a driver compatible with OS X 10.15 even though it's been about 6 months since 10.15 was released. Sorry I'm late to the party.

We had never charged for it after the sale until about 6 months ago due to people calling all the time for driver installs, scanning issues related to their internet etc. We used to offer an optional network/it yearly agreement and people would decline and then start calling for help. We decided to send out, initially an opt-out to ever customer who had current devices, and after every sale send one out. We did it as an opt out due to the fact that customers would decline the option and...

This article seems to be written by an old brick & mortar company that successfully transitioned to internet sales. This will work for any company that drop ships their products. Re: Wireless Printing to a LAN port on a Ricoh 4420NF (Savin 3760NF)
Answers to the questions I think are in there: Yes, you can wirelessly print to a 4420 with a wireless card, as long as the home has wireless. The router does not act as a server, it acts as a router. It will take the print job from the PC and "route" it to the printer, as long as you configure them both to be on the same network/IP scheme and print to that IP. Do you need a wireless print server? Well, the answer to that is "no" if you have a wireless card in the 4420 and "yes" if you not.

Re: Wireless Printing to a LAN port on a Ricoh 4420NF (Savin 3760NF)
Correct, short CAT5 cable from printer to wireless print server. Best to put in a static IP into the machine, otherwise, you'd have to print to the hostname of the printer and have something doing local DNS to map it from the name to the ever-changing IP. You shouldn't need to do anything at all with the router. Just make sure your IP for the printer is in the same range as the PC. for example, the PC's IP is 192.168.1.1, you could make the printer 192.168.1.44 For small home networks, it's...

Re: MFP Losing IP address
Art....looks like you found the culprit. My guess the modem was fine but the router would be what I would check. Usually once the IP on the MFP is set this will not change and should not zero out. What may be happening is you might be using a switch instead of a router...then your internet provider is using more intelligent DHCP servers that reset the IP address every 4 to 6 hours. Installing router will create an internal network with 192.168.xxx.xxx behind the firewall. I just did this...

Re: Setup in wireless environment
To clarify, what I'm using is actually a wireless bridge that connects the network card on the MFP via a cat5 cable to the bridge which connects to the wireless network. http://www.cdw.com/shop/produc...al-Band/1700151.aspx By doing that, you are connected to the network and can do anything you would be able to do with a direct network connection (scanning, etc.). Dealer network install for scan, print, fax upto four workstations included in the sale, sales person is charged back in the deal for it. After the sale, customer can buy block time for network services or be charged $150 per hour. Pretty much is a user goes to win7 and needs new drivers it's 100% billable or they can buy block time.

The point I make with my Sales force, as well as with my customers is if you come in one day and you can't scan to email, but it was working fine yesterday the customer perceives this as "my MFD is broken" because one or more of the functions have stopped working. But most of the time nothing on the MFD is broken. The configuration is the same as it has been for the last 6 months (or 2 years). What most often has changed is something on...
