Re: Things getting weird for Xerox Dealers

Toner in my Blood ·
Very strange. I interact with the CRG on a regular basis and have had no indication of reduced staff, etc. I can’t comment on your issue with parts as we do not rely on xerox to send our parts, we stock and replenish out of our own warehouse. No substantial difference between xerox parts on b/o than Canon or HP. Not nearly as bad as Ricoh. We dropped the ricoh product years ago as we couldn’t handle the constant toner b/o issues. Parts I can somewhat understand, but toner? Hope that your...

I can confirm a new offering. Xerox has a new program for signing on new dealers and not putting them in the Global or Agent bucket. These dealers can then be trained to use thier own technicians. I will check with my source about them using Xerox techs.

Re: MPS and Linux HELP!

So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

Re: Xerox explores sale of leasing finance unit: sources

Flavio1 ·
Oce did that 10 years ago and went bust. They didn't realise how much they relied on the monthly rental income and how inflexible third party leasing companies are when you want to upgrade mid term. The financing arm is usually the most profitable side of the business. High interest rate to customers, low rates for them and if the customer goes bust you generally get you equipment back and at the end of the contract you get your gear back.

Back in August 2010 I was told the following, "Although PPDM does address the PDF/A format, the copiers only support PDF/I for image.... Type f and later copiers will support PPDM without fail, the older copiers are an "iffy" solution as per Ricoh Tech Support." This was in response to the US District Court asking for PDF-A formatting.

Art...a very good point! Might I add that not only is this important as one needs a starting off point and a game plan, but this has to be broken down into weekly and even a daily game plan. Every evening to put together their next day. Never...never come into the office and not know what you're doing the minute your feet...

This is very true, and all too familiar. Closing the deal is all about building the value proposition. We fail to do that, and we experience the customers rejection! With so many companies exploring electronic paper management, competing with solutions rather than with price better positions us to seal the deal. Try presenting the combined value of the digital copier and the Virtual Copier electronic paper management application as an integrated software solution. In fact, try it yourself...

That's just it, we won 2 deals but couldn't get either of them of approved. I think one of other big fails is they fail to deliver a message that vendors are paying for the service. I've had a few customers who actually screamed at me that they had no idea what they were getting themselves into by clicking submit. I recently went back and revisited all of the BZ leads we never got hold of, and although and less then 5% of all of the people I spoke to said they bought a system from BZ.

The only service calls I have had on the MPCW2200's has been for loading paper. The issue people have is the edge feeding into the printer needs to be straight and square otherwise it will fail to load. The other issue that causes this is the spools being too tight to the sides of the roll of paper. I think this is a good machine. I would rather it had a drawer and catch trays like the black and white machines have but I am sure that would be more money and it seems like all the colors...
