No problems at all with speed. I'd be curious what that customer is printing. Large PDFs, embedded photos, large file sizes?? Connectivity or driver issue? PCL6 or PCL5? Universal driver or regular? Printing through a server or direct?

We're using the Ricoh PCL6, no infrastructure updates that I know of. Customer is complaining about print processing time from all applications. All we did was replace the 2551 with the 2003. Processors in both Ricoh devices are equal in specs.

Did you install Postscript on the machine? If so, maybe try the Postscript driver.

Just some thoughts...Is it possible to connect the MFP to one of their computers with a crossover cable and see what the result is? Can this also be done with your laptop to see what the result is and compare? What is the speed of their LAN...it may be having trouble establishing the communication speed. Maybe try changing the Ethernet speed on the MFP to 100MB Full Duplex instead of Auto. Is it worth trying to add memory?

One of my accounts is complaining that the time it take the printer to process any print files is much longer than the MP C2551 we replaced.  The volume did not warranty replacing with the MP C2553, plus the customer needed to save a few bucks....
