Re: Top 19 Old Copier Manufacturers that FADED Away
curious that nobody mentioned Kodak. I was working for Danka when they acquired Kodak. It created a mess but the equipment was solid.

I remember Kodak well, especially the EktaPrint, here's a cool link I found for the press release https://www.nytimes.com/1984/0...ktaprint-copier.html

Top Twenty Old Copier Manufacturers that FADED Away!
Did you sell these, did you ever see one, or maybe you weren't even a twinkle in your Mom's eye when these copier manufacturers were the King of the Road! Copiers for sale or rent, copies to make, for three darn cents No finishers, no document feeders, no R & E, I aint got not accessories! "Tell Us About Some Old Copier Companies", was a question we posed to our Print4Pay Hotel members about a week ago, as you can see it was very popular thread. Selling (Copiers) in the Seventies with Larry Kirsch
Just a few minutes ago I completed my call with Larry Kirsch. Larry has been a Print4Pay Hotel member for more than ten years and has fourteen more years in the business more than me (37 years)! Incredible! It's truly a blessing to have someone in your back pocket that you can lean on. Thus, with out further ado, let me present our interview with Larry Kirsch. Art: What year did you start in the industry and what was your first position? Larry: I started in 1966, and I started as a supply...

Selling Copiers in the Seventies with Jack Carrol
Before we start, I thought it would be good to give everyone a little back ground about my relationship with Jack Carrol. Jack was one of the principal dealer owners at Century Office Products. Jack hired me in the summer of 1998 for a sales position in NJ. One year prior, I had sold my stake in my dealership to my two partners. In essence, Jack was my first sales manager. Over the years I learned so much more about selling, building relationships and was hitting six figure compensation...

Re: Top Twenty Old Copier Manufacturers that FADED Away!
Nothing was "reliable" back then! Such a funky era of technology thinking back on it all. There were so many different physical configurations of copy machines back then. Each was a marvel of engineering chaos. I remember it well since the company that first hired me would work on anything they could get their hands on. I worked on plenty of those SCMs and Saxons when I first started out. They both went from liquid to dry toner technology before their demise. Saxon put their name on the...

back in those days, you were lucky if you had three different models to sell. When I broke in, we had the Minolta 310, Minolta 510 and then used apeco estat copiers

Re: Top Twenty Old Copier Manufacturers that FADED Away!
I started with SCM in 1963 in Honolulu. SCM was king of the copier world back then. They had an excellent line of copiers, all the model numbers were double digits, 33, 44, 55, 111. The 55 was the first console with dual paper feeds and was the basis of three more spinoff models, the 111 and the 211 and the 412. Then in 1975, along came "black Friday" over a hundred branches were closed of sold to dealers. Their heyday was over. The Japanese came into the market and even though SCM sold...

This Week in the Copier Industry 10 Years Ago
This Week in the Copier Industry Ten Years Ago First Week of October 2014 Real Copier Sales (10 Years Ago) One of the greatest points of distinction between top sales performers and everyone else is average sale size. Great salespeople typically make much larger sales than the rest of the team -- often by a factor of four to 10 times that of the typical salesperson. But how is this possible when Salesperson A and Salesperson B are selling the same product or service?.... . more here Check...
