Re: RING BINDING
5050: Search the internet for "GBC Pro Click" and you should see a very, very similar example. Advantage of this binding is the ability to re-open and change/insert/delete previously bound pages from the "book". I don't like the resulting bind as much as I do the GBC Comb (Cerlok) Binding but the "Pro Click" bind is a finished set when removed from the device.

and if your customers are in the same bind as many of mine, they can carryover their section 179 deductions for up to three years. If they haven't reported a profit within three years, they've already closed their doors and bailed on their lease too.

Art, if they have Plotbase, you should be able to setup basic PPD printing. BUT. They can buy a new Mac Mini for $599 that runs literal rings around their existing machine, or keep their ten year or more old machine and maybe you'll find a retrocomputing expert who can kludge around this after several hours of $150/hour consulting. Dude, here's my approach to your stated problem I use PowerPoint Slides, first they are on a landscape format, automatically setting you apart from the rest and of course in color. First couple of slides identify you first (remember you're "the main pole of the big tent" and then your company (if single line dealer another slide for them) if you're dual line, all the better, stress your ability to provide "Best in Class" solutions. Re: GBC ProClick Pronto 3000
I don't think you can get the ProClick P3000 any more. GBC has bailed out on the product. They say it had reliability problems but we didn't have any issues. To answer your questions, the GBC StreamPunch does not come with a binding unit and the P3000 only has one bind type in three sizes but it is the best bind out there. I am very disappointed that it has been pulled from the market.

At least she didn't ask you how the machine would take the bind out of the book. There are days I am so thankful for this site, so I can relay this info to you guys. I'm sure other reps have to physically restrain themselves from laughing when something like this happens. Somedays I wander how these people perform their jobs. Maybe I am cynical in my old age, but how much common sense does it require to push a button? I already know the answer to that question.

Valid point. I think we need an amendment becuase no congress can bind future congresses, so even if we had a group of rational adults in and they passed commonsense budgets and laws, in 2+ years a future congress could undo the whole thing. One other key factor in beating the docutech on this application is that in a CRD environment, their whole world revolves around getting jobs turned around quickly. Now imagine spending $150,000 or more on a high speed copier that you have to wait for while it sputters out bound books at a rate of 1 100 page book every 5 minutes. That's reality. So this monster 130 page per minute hog has to slow it's engine down to compensate for the time it takes to bind the document. Contrast that with...

I have attached a pdf that overviews the entire ldap process on the mfp and offers some advice about 3rd party utilities that will help (softerra ldap browser). I have also attached 2 other screen shots with some of the more common settings that i use in a "normal" environment. Hope this helps, and if you need anything else i have more, as i unfortunately have had to spend way to much time in the ldap world.
