We have had several meetings on it and was supposed to be on board by now but back-to-back-to-back bad months put things on hold. Are you operating on OMD or La Cross? The real power is the relationship this can have with your service and sales records. If you are looking into this seriously, I would like to maintain an open dialog as we tip toe down this path together. jim@cbs-digital.com

This Week in the Copier Industry 10 Years Ago for the First Week of May 2010
Years ago I use to burn the late night candle pretty often. In some cases I would still find myself emailing a prospect at 2AM in the morning. In most cases the email was to schedule a meeting for later that week. Those late night emails was just something I was use to. It wasn't until one of my clients made mention of the email that arrived at 2AM. Of course he didn't see it until he arrived at work. But this client went on to tell me that he wished he had more sales people like me, meaning...

Art/Jrlz - go back and read what Matthews said b/c you missed his point. This is all so very simple and easy to solve . . . If you don't like the LEFT leaning media OR the RIGHT leaning media don't watch them (I don't)and encourage others to do the same. If you don't believe that Climate Change is man-made and real, so be it - that's easy, now let's see what we can do about the effects of what the routine weather cycles are doing to our world since it's not man-made. If we don't like what...

I am with you on everything but the single payer health care system. I am a conservative, but the Republican parties position on defense spending bothers me too. We spedn way too much and any talk of cuts is treated like the end of the world. We need to decrease spending on defense, stop being the world's police force and continue to bolster our militaries rapid special operations ability.

Re: USA Presidential Poll
Jrlz: if I may use your quote . Please don't use Big Oil as your example because they are the industry (along with Finance/Banking/Investment) that need the most adjustment. Can you in any way justify the "Oil Depletion Allowance" given to Big Oil permitting them to essentially "depreciate" the Oil they're taking from the ground andselling to us? They're billions of dollars of profits IN A FISCAL QTR is terrible. Is oil costly to produce, sure but those costs are passed on to consumers. I...

Re: USA Presidential Poll
I can justify the oil depletion allowance. It is a form of depreciation built into the tax code. Also, billions in profits in a fiscal quarter is great, not terrible. Why is profit bad? Profit helps companies to grow, create more jobs, buy more equipment again creating more jobs, and pay dividends to share holders. An MFP dealer can use depreciation on their inventory. In addition at this time of year many companies will use the depreciation allowance to justify end of year purchases,...

The Canon (imagepress 6000) was more than double the price and click charges much higher than Konica. It uses no fuser oil and so far the color consistency has been outstanding. Good value for the money. Sweet spot for this printer is 150-175k per month. 00 clicks on it in a week. It uses no fuser oil and...

Re: Ricoh 3260C and 5560
Here's the answer I got from our Regional Sales Manager who got the answers from HQ: Some questions: 1. Does the fiery work on the 3260? Sure does. The Ricoh price list shows everything a la carte (mainframe and controllers separate). You can mix and match controllers to mainframe. 2. Is the print option included and/or is it mandatory? Does it need to be ordered separately? The Print/Scan option (002449MIU) is the GW controller. Since everything is a la carte, you will need to order it with...

Re: IKON Premium PowerPak
PowerPaks were preconfigured machines kept on hand with a basic set of options. They usually came with extra kickers as an incentive for reps to sell configurations that were easy to keep in inventory. Ex: An MPC3501 Premium Powerpak came with the larger multiposition staple finisher, the 2 bottom drawers, a slightly lower rep floor on the CPC, and a rep floor about $500 less than configuring the machine a la carte. Since this was a pretty common configuration, the warehouse didn't need to...

Re: The future of our industry, your thoughts?
Just look at all the major MFR's, the "down the street business" is going to dealers and global/healthcare/legal/govt are all going direct. The dealers can't handle those accounts nor do they have the expertise to implement the software solutions that are standard in those type of accounts from Cleveland to Miami to LA to NY where direct does. So local accounts = dealer larger accounts that are all over = MFR vertical teams
