I can't confirm these specifics, but the Global dealer down here stopped selling Sharp and Konica Minolta a few years ago, so I assumed this happened awhile back.

Art, When you get the chance take a look at the iQueue software that comes with this system. It is a very complete package which includes the ability to automatically recognize Spot colors, and allows you to manipulate them. This software will output to just about any device you can load a print driver for. I tested it on a Fiery driven device with excellent results.

Re: Xerox Global Rumors today
Not only employees getting screwed so are Xerox Vendors The layoffs are occurring around the country at Xerox' Global Imaging sites, so the impact is wider than just in Rochester. And now they are not paying vendors within terms, any vendor without contracted terms are being paid in 60-90 days. While at the same time Xerox is pressuring their sales teams to help collect money from their customers. Don't be fooled by John V, anyone below his reverse Robin Hood group of merry men are at risk.

Re: Rumor has it that Heritage Business Systems NJ has been acquired by....
My theory is that Xerox is further investing its dealer channel in advance of being acquired (potentially by HP). This would help increase the value of Xerox in HP eyes as HP's interest in acquiring Xerox is largely based on Xerox's dealer/reseller networks.

MFP Wars "The Final Five"
re-post with corrections from 2009 How many players do we have now? Let's see: Ricoh, Xerox, Canon, KonicaMinolta, OCE, Sharp, Kyocera, Toshiba, Muratec, and Panasonic. Many moons ago, I made a few predictions regarding what I thought would happen with Ricoh Americas. To sum it up, my thoughts were that Ricoh would take all non-performing dealers and ask them to become Lanier or Savin, while keeping the top Ricoh Dealer performers. It made sense to me that the Direct Channel would then have...

Re: MFP Wars "The Final Five"
Toshiba Tec is potentially going to seek an independent path from Toshiba Corp. while entering a joint manufacturing partnership with Ricoh to produce new MFPs with the same print engine a few years from now. I would maybe put Lexmark on the chopping block as it seems happy to relabel it's A4 product to Xerox, Sharp and Toshiba and somehow tries to distance itself from it's 60% owner NineStar.
