Hey Art, Good post. I didn't know too much about DocuShare so I'm glad I could read about it. I think Canon products deserve a mention. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE line allows you to directly scan to/print from Google Docs and Microsoft Exchange. This is a free feature. Ricoh will have their ICE version soon, will try to write more on that. I've found over time that most apps from the manufacturers are so so at best and developing a direct relationship with companies like UDOCX and Print Audit is more beneficial to the end user and to the dealer that is selling the solution. Great Post Art. Xerox have a DropBox app available for their new ConnectKey devices but the user has to buy a scanpack which cover X number of scans and has a 12 month shelf-life. The advantages of having it on the MFD as an App is that any user (e.g. at a college) can log in to their DropBox account and print or scan to / from their own account securely. We've been doing the same as you and circumventing the charge or need for an app by pointing the scan to a DropBox folder on a desktop.

Larry I believe, you believe it, yet it seems to me the involvement of "C" level execs on LinkedIn is very low, unless they are all lurkers. There's only a handful of "C" level execs in our industry that promote, inspire and engage. One of my biggest concerns with LinkedIn is that most "C" levels execs either don't have the time or are too busy running the ship to become active. Art, Nice comments. Love the Promote, Inspire & Engage! Just as the dealership website is a necessity so is their LinkedIn presence as well. Most don't give a second thought but they should as this directly affects their image. Setting aside 30 minutes per day is not asking much. Set the example.

Between the CDA members and others in the industry, I have heard so many people who are doing it to be deeper and wider in their accounts but the IT business is not profitable for them. we're doing it, not sure if we're making money on it. Not privy to that part of the business. Stratix is one of those that just bought an IT company, seems that is the way to go since those IT companies are already turning a profit.

Great post! 11. Assign a rep a topic (round robin) to present at the next weekly sales meeting. Rules- show the team a new selling feature / function / solution, present it as you would to a client, and keep it short ( 5 minutes max) & sweet. After presenting, stand and receive constructive criticism from the rest of the team. Keep it fun and informative- but don't take it the task lightly. This will improve product knowledge, research skills, and presentation skills.

I like 11.!! I even like the rules better. Your thread also reminded me to add this. 12. Reps, especially new reps would be in charge of training their customers on how to use the system. At first, they would travel with the solutions engineer or (me) and watch them train the customer on how to print, copy and scan.
