You can even scan directly and securely to the cloud from your Ricoh MFP(to Microsoft Online, Office 365 BPOS, SharePoint). The demo and product were great. I have some questions about latency with on-premise SharePoint and Exchange. I would think UDOCX would access to both from the Internet which means users would have to configure their sites for external access. Obviously with a complete cloud solution using Office 365/BPOS this is not an issue. I just attended a Microsoft event for Office 365 and it is quite an improvement over BPOS.

Mircosoft Office 365 goes live today. http://www.cnbc.com/id/43557789 It does have the superior appealing feature over GoogleDocs of allowing business to store their data on local servers. With Google, it appears your data must be 100% in the cloud.

I once saw a little book that had 365 ways to recycle/reuse/renew and thought these would be nice little tidbits to throw out in an email so that people would feel non-threatened and perhaps look forward to the next one. Down the road I become the "Recycle Guy", never did anything about it though.

Geeesh, you ask a great question! I really not sure if there is an answer for that. All of my accounts scan whether it's scan2email or scan2folder. Most are then moving those documents to a place on the server or another pc where they are stored in a windows alpha tree folder structure. When I speak about entering meta data at the copier, so that they can perform a better search, it seems to have turned them off. Many users feel that they can find the documents that they've scanned and don't...

Well we might be able to make these sort of applications easier for you. We have a tool that automatically identies what type of form is being scanned and can store it automatically based on rules. We also can automatically extract data and then pass it along to a destination app like Excel, MS 365, Oracle or something else.

IT people hate to manage an SMTP relay server. I have eliminated this server completely with Canon technology in many accounts. They are scanning to email right through Office 365.

This is funny, because the article makes no mention that Brother devices have some of the highest cost per page costs, along with consumables that have a hard time delivering yields. More importantly, is it not right to talk at the centralized MFP? Should we all just sit at our desks for four hours at a clip. Medical reports now seem to indicate that sitting is one of the worst things you can do for extended amounts of time.

Doesn't MS365 Sharepoint offer a folder that you can scan to for uploading scans? You can scan to Dropbox, Google Drive and Laserfiche on any scanner or MFP simply by setting up a Scan to Folder workflow.
