Re: Canon imageRUNNER Advance C3535i questions
when you load the bypass tray it will auto recognize the paper in a pop-up menu, and if you look closely there is a section near the bottom where it shows what a media is defaulted and a button that says “change “. This is where you would program in the media wait. I believe it would be heavy six, if you hit the details button on that screen you will see it by GSM The varnish would be questionable. I’m thinking, try using the selection for “2nd side of printed media”

Great to hear good things happening with Ricoh Production equipment. It's interesting to hear 13 x 25" paper?? Magnetics? No doubt the image quality is very good. We have several C651/C751's out and this year could include several more!

Re: MP C5100 PRO & EB 22 Fiery
Since they have the Fiery, once the job is printed it can be archived on the Fiery, all print settings will stay with that job. Make sure they have command work station installed on their PC and log into the fiery controller, right click on the print job and archive it.

Re: MP C5100 PRO & EB 22 Fiery
You can still use the document server with the fiery using the fiery postscript driver or the fiery pcl driver. In the PS driver just click the job properties tab, check document server, and fill in a name or whatever you want.

Re: MP C5100 PRO & EB 22 Fiery
I have had people want to do this too because it's easier to figure out. Also you can't change any job properties except the quantity when reprinting from the fiery.

Re: Best Black & White MFP for 10k/month yeild. Suggestions?
First is this your actual reply to the account looking at thoseToshiba products listed (455 & 305)? If yes and they have a great history with the Toshiba product, telling them there a "bottom dweller" would make anyone think that you're only wanting to sell them what YOU'RE offering. The models they requested are older models of Toshiba and who knows if they've worked well for them or not. Also if you research the Okidata product, most of their MFP's are based on the Toshiba platform now...

Re: Best Black & White MFP for 10k/month yeild. Suggestions?
Actually, I did not mention that I am offering any equipment to them. I'm not even sure where they are located, I'm not looking to sell them, All of the recent MFP's that I've seen at the shows have pretty much the same GUI> I do remember something about a more robust partnering with Toshiba/

Re: Best Black & White MFP for 10k/month yeild. Suggestions?
FYI: Toshiba, overall, is in the top ten for R&D Spend-to-Sales ratios. "Bottom dweller" really is not a fair use of words. With any device manufacturer, product is only as good as its dealer support. Get references if need be. RE: maintenance; The asker is talking B&W devices not color. Regardless, get the maintenance. Fewer spikes in copy quality or hardware issues because you'll make that phone call to fix rather than putting up with poor copy quality, etc. for fear of how much it...

TimB: Thanx for the comment! I believe you with the top ten in R & D for Spend to Sales ratios, but I don't R & D being conducted for copiers not like Canon, Xerox, KonicaMInolta & Xerox. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck then it must be a duck. Toshiba's market share over the last ten years in the US has always been at or near the bottom of the pack, thus they are cellar dwellers, bottom feeders, in the US market. You are correct with the MA, they were not asking for...

Art, I like your general guidance to the initial poster, and I won't grade your writing since this isn't an English class. In regard to this brief post conversation, I think honesty is the best policy with customers and with ourselves. Yes Tim, they probably are in the top ten. However, the customer was asking which is the best. By rankings in the market place, the top seven do not include Toshiba. They fall within the bottom 7% of market share for shipments and the bottom 8.6% for market...

Re: PCS Director Embedded Receives Certification with Latest Ricoh Multifunction Devices
Hi Txeagle24, Technically Identical, Print Audit builds the PCS Director software for Ricoh, Ricoh then Supports and markets the PCS Director product as their own. If you have current customers on PCSD you should have them update to the latest version, there are a number of enhancements to the embedded they may appreciate.

Re: PCS Director Embedded Receives Certification with Latest Ricoh Multifunction Devices
We became a Premier Partner with Print Audit so naturally, our orders now go through them. The main differences have more to do with timing of upgrades. For instance, we have had Print Audit Secure for quite awhile but PCS Director still doesn't have it I don't think. Also, I think you'll find that you can't "sell" the PA6 software if you are a RFG Dealer. All that having been said, all the things that people care about functionally, are the same.

Re: PCS Director Embedded Receives Certification with Latest Ricoh Multifunction Devices
Old Glory, Secure is now available through Ricoh. This latest version of PCSD now offers Secure Embedded, and the ability to process multiple jobs within a log in. The application works on all devices from Java 11 and older, except for devices with the 4.3" screen which Print Audit is currently developing.

Re: How does Ricoh remote compare to print fleet?
Well, I evaluated @remote years ago before we decided on Printfleet so my info may be dated. From what I recall @remote did a fine job of collecting meters on my Ricoh devices. Not so well on non-ricoh devices. It did not have any accounting capabilities as it simply pulled data from the copiers. Printfleet does the same, pulls meters from devices, has very robust reporting such as: Want to know how much your printer prints from 8-9am Monday morning? It can tell you. The quality of the data...

How much are print heads? I got a price from Parts that part # D6702011 (black head unit) is $966.67. I have a 2200 that is giving me white streaks in the blk/gray areas, not much wear on it. thx.

If the unit is not that old, maybe there ia warranty on the print head. The brochure states one year for parts.

Re: MP C6502 & wireless print
This isn't machine-dependent but rather depends on having a connection to a wireless access point that connects to the network the printer is on. If he doesn't have access from one building to another, Hot Spot could be a good option.

Art, So you’re saying you used eQuill with eWriter to process your sales paper work? To this day, are you still doing it that way? Did you have many customers buying in to eQuill in the healthcare, government agencies and law enforcement fields? It would seem that any entity that processed sales would be a good target for eQuill too—did you find that to be so? Yeah—it’s tough not to resort to ‘commodity speak’ when prospecting b/c that’s what it seems to come down to—cannibalizing from each...

Re: The Transition of the Copier Industry "Part III"
Great article as usual Art. I agree, technology like this is a great option for any industry. I think that the reason it has been so slow to take off is that people like the "hard copy". Whether it's because they feel it's more secure, or just out of habit, having the signed document in hand is a tough thing to let go of. I see the same with becoming a cashless society, people love paper!

Re: The Transition of the Copier Industry "Part III"
Hey Jeff No, we did not use the eQuill/eWriter. I thought we should have put this to good use for our sales team. The usage of the eQuill in the field would have enable many conversations about how we use it, how we set the system up, and what was our back end process. It was an opportunity to break out of that commodity role. Thanx for the reply and questions!

Re: MP C6004SP & Fax Routing to Folder
The short answer is yes. It would have to be initiated by someone at the point of failure. I would teach someone there how to change things in the event that the server goes down with the intent of switching things back once the server is back on line. The incoming fax can either go to the Fax Document Server or there is such a thing as "Locked Fax". Like Locked Print, it stores the incoming fax in the copier harddrive until an authorized code is entered to release them. Don't ask me how to...
