Is it just me, or does West McDonald look like Wolverine? I watched the Seat-Based Billing video that was posted from the Top 100 Summit. Definitely some interesting points going back and forth. Print Audit has done a great job of persistently marketing seat-based pilling to the copier industry.

Re: MPS and Linux HELP!

jdicarlo ·
So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

RICOH PRO 907/1107/1357 PRODUCTION PRINTER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q. Where do the new Pro Series Production Printers fit in the Ricoh high volume monochrome printer product line? A. The new Pro Series Production Printers are successors to the highly successful Digital Document Publisher models, the DDP70e and the DDP92. Those models were initially brought into the Ricoh product family through the acquisition of Hitachi. Technically, the 70-ppm Digital Document Publisher 70e is being...

Makes sense. Do you know if the $7,600 and $9,250 apply to the base SP models. If so, what are the SRPs for the SPF models? About $1k more? There are almost no generational improvements in these outside of App2ME, standard PPDM, and the optional keyboard so I cant see much higher prices. Plus it looks like RPCS is gone. Is that the end of host-based printing for Ricoh?

Man, I loved the RPCS, it was actually something different to talk about that was included with the system. It's a shame it's gone, that's one thing they should have kept to be different!

Re: MS 365 Question

montecore ·
Art....you are giving the business away because you could be hosting the exchange server for them and all the revenue would come to your company. With MS365 they are paying MS to have a piece of the cloud and be there host. You could control all of that many SMB's do not want anything to do with the cloud because of security and they want to have control.

You are right, Ethanol is not embraced by environmentalists or economists, it's only really embraced by one special interest group... the people who make Ethanol (and their suppliers, who grow corn). In my opinion, Ethanol would not exist if corn were not grown in Iowa (and if Iowa didn't host a very early and influential presidential primary). Also, worth noting that while this is a political issue, it is not a partisan one. Both parties lack the political will to say no to Ethanol. $3.47 a...

Most everyone at some time in their lives has enjoyed the exhilarating rush that builds with the slow click up the summit and is released as you whip with wild abandon up and around and upside down. DSM will let you centrally manage scan buttons on an mfp (that supports DSM) to a folder, email, or SharePoint from a Windows 2008 R2 Server. Access to the buttons is controlled with AD. No OCR functionality but it is now an option on the mfp itself. No more individual address books to worry about. Ricoh announced support back in 2010 but unfortunately very few models have it.

Paul Very nice. A few questions for you. Was the SBB just for printers or where their MFP's included also? At $35K per month I'm thinking their had to be some MFP's. As you know I'm a believer in SBB, and just wish the dealership that I work for could embrace SBB. it is the wave of the future and the only way to combat the race to zero for the cost per page. Art

jswinberlin, Make sure the firewall on the PC that is having trouble is turned off. If they fight you on this ask to do it as a test, then open specific ports later. Check if the PC is using DHCP to get it's IP Address. If it is make sure your MFD is using the Host name and NOT the IP Address as it will change. If you are using the host address, make sure that the DNS servers are correct on the MFD. Run an ipconfig /all command on a PC that is working well to see what the DNS servers should...
