They have an application that they can only print from. What they would do was print the document on the 6010 and then scan it back in on the same machine. It worked fine and they wre happy. Re: Ricoh Distributed Scan Management with new 03 series
DSM will let you centrally manage scan buttons on an mfp (that supports DSM) to a folder, email, or SharePoint from a Windows 2008 R2 Server. Access to the buttons is controlled with AD. No OCR functionality but it is now an option on the mfp itself. No more individual address books to worry about. Ricoh announced support back in 2010 but unfortunately very few models have it.

Txeagle24, The MPS ready report is not just manufacturer based it is Model based, each manufacturer has devices that report very well and very poorly. Like every other manufacturer Ricoh has JSwinberlin, Like any SNMP device monitoring system, we are dependent on the level of detail the device manufacturer puts into the MIB structure. Some printers are very robust where they report toner Levels from 100% to 0% in 1% increments. while other only show a defined status of O.K. / Low/ Empty.

Here is what I found out about the MP301. This device has 3 toner indications, O.K., Low, and Empty, When the device indicates a Low toner status, a maximum of 50 pages will be produced before the machine will go empty. This is not enough time to provide real time shipments if you create a smart alert for Low toner. There are a Smart Alerts that can be set up to help with the management of such devices.
