Below is probably one of the most mis-understood printers (well not actually a printer) of our time. The Seri Print 25 was a really cool in-line attachment to the Ricoh duplicators. You would replace the Ricoh ink with Seri Ink, and then you'd be able to print on any gloss coatings. The Seri printer used a UV light to cure the ink on the gloss coat. Alas the Seri is no more and Ricoh is just about out of the duplicator industry now. Enjoy the threads from ten years ago this week! Konica...

Looking back there was one incredible thread from 15 years ago and that had to do with a new member that refused give information that we required in order to approve them for membership. Graham & Ted were also key players in getting the forums launched back then. Enjoy the threads from 15 years ago this week and make sure you check out that thread!

If you take a peek at some of the threads below, you will see that many of the threads were related to wide format.  In another thread there were some references to the Seri Duplicator that used a separate device to cure the ink of the duplicator, this was necessary so that the ink would not wipe off of gloss stocks.  Just recently I came across the need for this device with a pharmaceutical firm.  Believe it or not, I called my contact in Europe and these devices and the ink...

So, a few weeks ago I posted Top 5 Copier & Printer RFP's for Second Week of May 2014 . I thought that I would have the time to post these each week. However, the weather has been so beautiful these last few weeks that I've taken a great liking to sitting on my favorite couch in the evenings. No computer, no phone, and no ipad. While I was scrolling down on this weeks threads from ten years ago, I saw the threads for the Aficio MPC2500, MP C3000, MPC3500, and MP C4500. Hard to believe that these systems are ten years old now Another old but goodie was the introduction of the variable print head for the Seri Model 25. The variable print head was actually an HP print head/cartridge that was located in the Seri Model 25. Never sold the VPPH model, however I did sell a few of the Seri Model 25, in fact I just sold a...

It's funny that the Seri Model 25 shows up this week in the list of threads! I'm currently involved with trying to place a Seri and a DD with a Pharma account. Ricoh discontinued the Seri printers years ago, not sure why, it could have been because of slow sales and the fact that there were not that many opportunities for them. The Seri Model 25 uses a UV light to cure the ink from a digital duplicator. You need special ink, modified duplicator drums and then the Seri attaches to the end of...

Nice thread about the Seri Printer below. I recently sold a Seri Printer with a Ricoh HQ9000 duplicator, well it was last year. I ran across the perfect application and pretty much knew there was no one else in the US that would even think of offering the Seri Printer and the Duplicator. Ricoh discontinued the Seri Printer in the US about ten years ago. To make a long story short I met the inventor of the Seri Print back in 2002 when I visited Japan. It was 15 years ago this week when Ricoh launched the MP 240W digital wide format printer/copier/scanner. It was a fantastic time for me in sales. I guess I was at the right spot at the right time. Similar to when Minolta launched the Minolta 450Z copy machine back in 1984. Ricoh broke the bank with the MP 240W in 2004.
