Re: Leasing Company Changes and Funding Disruption
We only use Great America but i have not seen any disruption. All seems normal with them other than the little caveat that the business must be open and operational at the time of funding. I haven’t seen credit tighten up from them or feel they are any more strict than usual.

I've seen the same with Great America also, they were always a little bit tight on credit anyway thus nothing has changed with them. That's a good thing

Re: Your Copiers Are Storing Confidential Information: What You Can Do About It
We are still a dealer but we have not sold a LEXMARK in quite a while. They eliminated the MPS Elite program we were own, or at the least removed us from that program. I never had anyone ask about the security due to the Chinese ownership but it’s a great point. Honestly, I have found their support, to us at least, to be very subpar. Our support from brother has been phenomenal the last 2 years. Most of my printer clients are replacing the lexmarks with the brothers as fast as they can.

Taking a deeper dive, knowing that the U.S. DoD Inspector General recommends adding Lexmark to the banned list with Huawei (Lenovo and GoPro also), does that make you uncomfortable when pitching a Lexmark unit?

The problem with GE is that sometimes they would go back to the customer and say they under estimated and have to collect the difference, thereby defeating the purpose of including it. It is at this time at the sales persons discretion to include it on taxable customers. Sometimes the $1 buy-out is...

I think Ricoh recognizes the embedded is not sufficient but is tied legal on their actions. Also, Ricoh is still provide tech support for the controllers that...

Re: Lease Approvals
I thought we had a thread similar to this and maybe even a poll. I would say that 90% of my deals are getting approved by the likes of GE, DLL, Great America, etc, however I am pre-screening customers now and not even taking apps from some, due to thier industry and or financial status. Some have bought and others have tried elsewhere, thus the reason my approval rate is high is because of the pre-screening and I believe would be far lower than 90%.

Wow. OK, I've never seen a study that didn't CLEARLY show total US print declining every single year since the 1990's. An account can still grow, of course, and you could be fortunate and have a mix of accounts that grow. But just looking at office paper shipments shows a constant decline every year. I think we're right at the stage where 50%+ of workers will never print until they have to "take something to the old man for approval". They'll just never have developed the habit of printing,...

So, do you think it would be ethical for the leasing company to go after full stream of payments plus residual in the case I described??? I don't begrudge the leasing company a fair return on their outlay of money but to want the full stream plus residual 4 weeks after funding is excessive. That's making 40% interest on their money for a one month investment. Would you be happy as the leasing partner???? I doubt it. Keep in mind your reputation as a salesperson is attached to how your...

Found out today, that Assurant does cover floods, I actually got a document from them about their services and I'll post it here later. Seems like most BOP policies will not cover floods, and Assurant will. However this leads to another issue, when leasing companies ask for "proof of insurance" and get a copy of the rider, do they not check to see if their equipment is covered in case of flood? If they miss this and do not charge for insurance is it then their loss and not the lessee? Some...

Is GA entitled to what the contract says they are entitled to after 4 weeks, or only after 5? Five is pretty short... maybe they get what the contract says after 15 weeks, but not 14? Or maybe they get what the contract says if the contract goes to term but they eat it if anything bad happens prior to...
