Change is Good, Especially When it Comes to Scanning Documents with Copiers

Art Post ·
Change is good, right? I'm going to change is even better. Being the same old you and doing the same old thing when presenting copiers can be prove to be a bad thing. Everything is changing at break neck speed in our industry. Thus last week I thought I would change it up a bit. Instead of providing the same old boring talk track of speeds and feeds. I opted for making one short power point presentation (5 slides) that centered around scanning workflows. There were no pictures of copiers, no...

Canon C356iF-C256iF II Spec Check Review

Art Post ·
It's not often that I'm intrigued by a competitors color MFP. It was two or three weeks ago when a prospect asked, "what do you know about the Canon C356iF?". Well, I was kind of embarrassed because I knew nothing about that Canon device. The only thing I could mutter out was that I would have to do some research and get back to them (not good). It's not like me to not know about my competitors devices, thus I started my quest to know as much as I can about the Canon C356iF. I'm not going to...

Haha! Something pretty funny in with one of the links below. "Moving closer to the paperless office". This was fifteen years ago. Do you remember the Ricoh C1224? Was a color MFP that had a speed of 12 pages per minute in color and 24 pages per minute in black. Needless to say that Ricoh never informed sales that the copier would go into auto calibrate during a print or copy run for up to minutes! Relive that experience with the threads below Enjoy the threads from 15 years ago this week.

Re: The Future of Scanning for MFP's aka Copiers is in the Cloud

jswinberlin ·
I can't say that I agree that scan to email or folder are dying in my experience. Scanning to Office 365 should only require a special connector configuration in the hub transport layer. Like traditional scan to email or folder the first time is difficult and it doesn't seem like it's worth the effort but in time it should become more simple. "Scan to Cloud" seems to be a vague term as most people who are looking for a solution like this may be referring to scanning to their application...

What is Unstructured Document Scanning? Workflow Part IV

Art Post ·
A recent press release from Konica Minolta SA (South Africa) prompted me to further explain why structured scanning is a must when scanning paper based documents. I would have to say that ninety percent of all SMB's (small, mid size business) are scanning the "old fashioned" way with multifunctional copiers. What is the "old fashioned" way?   That would be scanning back to one's email address, scanning to a desktop folder, scanning back to "your" folder on a shared drive and even...

New Ricoh W6700SP Wide Format Review

It's been more than five years since Ricoh has updated the Ricoh W3601 wide format printer/scanner/copier. I wasn't sure exactly how long, but googled it and found the press release for the MP 3601 that was dated March 10th, 2011. Far too long for me, but at least there is something new and different to offer our W3601 clients an upgrade path. Ricoh's wide digital wide format entry started with the MP W240 (4ppm), then the MP W2400 (4PPM), later came the MP W3600 (6ppm), and the last one of...
