Re: Oki 1450 vs Ricoh 6700 wide Format

Art Post ·
So, the Oki or Teriostar 1040 is one page per minute faster than the Ricoh. Oki wants the user to replace the corona wire cartridge and the process cartridge. I believe the process cartridge is the drum. Now, the memories come back, if an end user scratches that drum, it's on the user to replace the drum which is going to be a very pricey item. If I was a business owner I would not want my peeps handling a part that has a cost of $1,500-$2,000. If they scratch it, it's on me to buy another,...

Interesting idea. If they could add a GDI controller to it, enable the USB, and maybe take away the scanning (or get a USB TWAIN driver), that would be interesting. I will run that by Engineering.

The 2030 was a tremendous bargin, with print, scan & fax, plus priced under the 2050SP, remember with the MPC2050SP youhad the add the fax and MSRP was about $1,045. The only catch was no large lcd display, no scan2folder, scan2email and a TWAIN scanner was standard. Nice entry level color, will be missed in the lineup, truly another blunder by not replacing this system. Art

Re: MFP Scan to Xerox Docushare

VinceMcHugh ·
eCopy SSOP has a Docushare connector that is pretty slick. And eCopy SSOP works with many MFDs. You can use an embedded version of eCopy SSOP which connects to a eCopy SSOP manager running on a PC, or you can have an eCopy stand alone ScanStation that connects via a network TWAIN interface and stands next to the MFD. You will need the eCopy Docushare connector. Hope this helps!

Lee ·
We are a Konica and Ricoh dealer and I am familiar with both products (moreso the Ricoh). They are both good machines, but the 1060 software is far better in most respects: Scanning Konica scans to the hard drive on the controller and then you retrieve it from the "box" with a piece of software called ScanTrip, 25.00 per seat. You have to know which box to pull the scan from. It's what I would call pull scanning. ScanTrip can be set to poll the machine periodicaly to see if there is anything...

So what scanning do you have, just Twain? Also, do you have any job binder type features or not? The network right now is one mac with a color laser printer connected with a USB cable. I will have to get them to run a crossover CAT5 cable so they can print directly to the 1060 without setting up a router etc.

Ted, The client's software is supposed to work with the network connection, but I am pretty sure that this has nothing to do with their software. I am getting the same error message when using the TWAIN driver in my office when scanning from Illustrator, Publisher and even simple Microsoft Imaging. I have had success with scanning utilizing a Twain driver on a 1060. Here are some things to consider. Personal Firewall Software may be blocking communication on the port that Twain uses to communicate...XP for example has a built-in firewall that will block ports used for various service communications...Port 1022 is used for Twain communication....You can check to see if your pc is "Listening" on 1022 by running netstat -a at a command prompt... Try disabling SNMP on the network...

When my IT department does an install, they always download the "latest and greatest" versions of all software and drivers from the website. This time all I had to do to get this to work was to use an older version of the TWAIN driver (version 3.33). I tested this today while installing a 1060 on the network of another client that was already running NetNEUI and it...
