Re: COVID19 "Remote Working" Day Forty-Three of Sales

SalesServiceGuy ·
I just created my own YouTube channel doing product videos with future ones planned mostly focussed on MS365. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OotckdOtEg ... and I am working Linkedin a lot more in different ways. Most of the people I know say they have never gotten a lead from Linkedin. They think of this site as a static business card talking about who they are and not what they can do for the customer. They never post to Linkedin. Like most things, Linkedin requires almost daily work to...

SSG that's an awesome video! You can send links to clients, and direct them to your channel. It's a virtual demo that keeps on giving. Kudos I have some of the same issues with getting appointments through Linkedin, however I know of several peeps that use Linkedin as their only source for prospecting and they are doing well. I will keep working it since I have a Navigator account now

One major MPS company reported 29% decline in pages or revenue Another major MPS company reported a 71% decline Healthcare for one of those clients saw a 40% increase More inquires from clients in respect to file sharing and content Expecting continuing decline for another 30 days in revenue and prints First week of April they hit bottom and has stayed that...

Monte I don't believe you are paranoid! The ecommerce is a real threat for sales peeps. In order to over come that we as sales peeps will need to wear additional hats to better serve out clients. Those as a trusted adviser, become more knowledgeable with cloud services, IT services, MSP, MSSP. It's my belief that we will evolve from just print to be able to consult on all aspects of business office. I would love to hear from others on this as well, this is a great subject for discussion.

Art, I call Bull ****! At least for our industry, the copier industry! This may be true of a commodity (like envelopes, or coffee, or even a PC) but copiers, really MFDs require a lot of attention, both before and after a customer buys it. This article seems to be written by an old brick & mortar company that successfully transitioned to internet sales. This will work for any company that drop ships their products. And I agree that the MFD manufacturers would LOVE for this to be, or...

So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

Just take a look at www.udocx.com or at our blog http://blog.udocx.com (you can find an articel about the security issue there as well). If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact me.

And here's the rebuttal for my statement: http://www.govtech.com/securit...tch-Good-Idea-020711 However, I think the idea of an internet kill switch is rather silly as well. In order for the kill switch to be used, the country would have to already be in total rebellion. No politician is going to throw a switch that costs the U.S. GDP billions a day except in the face of armed uprising.

We haven't been asked for it yet, but boy you sure can see it coming. Even in our own office, we are increasingly using iPads and other mobile devices that lend themselves to cloud type usage. Also, cloud computing is making certain services more affordable to to smaller companies who can't afford their own IT personnel. They will eventually, and naturally, look to cloud solutions for their print needs as well. Here is a fresh story driving home this point. I suggest reading the comments...

The demo and product were great. I have some questions about latency with on-premise SharePoint and Exchange. I would think UDOCX would access to both from the Internet which means users would have to configure their sites for external access. Obviously with a complete cloud solution using Office 365/BPOS this is not an issue. I just attended a Microsoft event for Office 365 and it is quite an improvement over BPOS.

Basically your phone is sending the file to a PC or server that is running google chrome and is signed into your google account. You'd need to install and set up chrome on said PC/server as well as the cloud printing service and then download a. Cloud print app on your phone or tablet. You open the app and choose a file to print.

The MFP is already connected to the internet. The Cloud Print client for the PC connected to the MFP identifies the printers that are connected to that PC. As long as that PC is online, running Chrome & you are logged in to your Google account, you can select the document you want to print from the Cloud Print app on your mobile device, select the settings (this is still in beta), and it will send the print job to the printer to which you choose to print. Canon's Cloud Portal - MEAP App allows you to connect a Canon ImageRUNNER-Advance to either GoogleDocs or MS Sharepoint Online. The MEAP App is free from Canon, and GoogleDocs will give you a free 1Gig of storage when you open a gmail account. The last time I checked a Terabyte of storage was ~ $250/year, which is pretty darn cheap. This allows you to Scan directly to GoogleDocs and Print Directly from GoogleDocs. Thanks for the update. Who said they were compatible with MIFARE cards? Magnetic strip cards is what I figured the hotel was using. Those work by a different mechanism. As Vince mentioned you can look at UniFlow but that might be a pricey option. You can also add a credit card/bill/coin-op solution for the business center. This is an easy way for walk up traffic.
