Re: Oki 1450 vs Ricoh 6700 wide Format
So, the Oki or Teriostar 1040 is one page per minute faster than the Ricoh. Oki wants the user to replace the corona wire cartridge and the process cartridge. I believe the process cartridge is the drum. Now, the memories come back, if an end user scratches that drum, it's on the user to replace the drum which is going to be a very pricey item. If I was a business owner I would not want my peeps handling a part that has a cost of $1,500-$2,000. If they scratch it, it's on me to buy another,...

Re: MFP Refurbishing & Recycling
In Nova Scotia, Canada we are no longer allowed to dispose of copiers by taking them to the landfill. We must pay a local moving company $30.00 per hour (or send our tech to their premises) to disassemble the copier into it glass, metal, plastic & electronic components. These components are then placed in different bins for recycling. It can take approx two hours. The tech does not have to be delicate in the disassembly so wire cutters, crowbars and sledge hammers are now part of our...

Re: I have a buyer in South America
Just read this post and wanted to add my comments. I ship a lot of product outside the USA and there are 2 important points that will protect you: 1. Ship all products using INCO Terms EXW your location. This means the buyer is responsible for all shipping, duty & taxes once the product leaves your possession. 2. Maintain a wire account with a minimum amount of money in it. Have the buyer wire the money to this account and as soon as the funds hit your account transfer the money to your...

Re: 240w meter count?
Yes, the 240W only counts Linear feet, and the manual says the drum and developer should go about 90,000 l.ft. The corona wire goes 20-30k, drum blade about 40-50k, we regularly get over 100k on the drum, except for damage. There were a few drums 2-3 years ago that would give ghost image problems on large jobs (over 70 sheets). this happened when the drum was a couple years old, but only had 30k ft. Reprographic Technologies has a great drum that I think is superior to the OEM, and costs...

Re: OCE 7050, Can anyone help?
I am told we pay $203 dealer cost per carton (each contains 2 bottles) for all Océ toner. From an Océ Authorized WFPS Reseller's Reference Manual, Consumables Target Yield: On the 705x copiers Each bottle is rated for 11,500 sf - say 3,833 LF of 36"paper -at 5% coverage. Developer is 50,000 LF, wire/blade/drum are 65,000 LF. Don't have any prices on the PM kit as yet.

Re: OCE 7050, Can anyone help?
Jason, I believe there are 6 square ft. in a "D" size print. That would put the yield of the toner cartriges at 1,916 "D" prints. The developer lists for $441.47 and the yield would be 25,000 "D" prints. The wire($31.04 corona, $27.76 transfer wire) (blade $331.08)and drum are 32,500 "D" prints. A drum lists at $972.40 and are generally replaced when the developer is replaced.

I have to disagree, the issues I believe make those Americans "unhappy" with the administration are directly tied to the administration. Iraq Rendition Torture Warrantless Wire taps of American Citizens All of these are the decision of the President, not congress.

Re: Political Speeches
I agree with you on Polls, they can certainly be twisted to say anything they want. However, I'd have to disagree with everything else. The decision to invade Afghanistan, where the terrorists are was supported by Congress and the American People. The invasion of Iraq was not. Since we both think polls are meaningless, I'm not sure how we'd determine if most Americans are against anything. Your assertion that you don't mind spying or torturing Terrorists has a flaw, how do you know if they...

I never said that. I said Iraq. There was no al-queda in Iraq until after the US invasion. The war in Iraq is a separate entity from the war on Terrorism. Unwarranted Wire Taps of US citizens are illegal not according to me, but according to the US constitution.

Chuck, with the current "troubled times" (words from Frank Cannata on the latest Live Wire / Cannata Report) at Ricoh, it now makes sense that either Savin or Lanier, or both brands, get elimintated. Just as GM sells Hummer and gives Saturn to the Penske group. It is a shame that on the 50th Anniversary of Savin, started in 1959, it's existence may disappear.
