Question on this - do any of you that sell Lexmark get questioned about the ultimate ownership of the Chinese government? If so, what is it that you say to get them comfortable that they're safe?

We are still a dealer but we have not sold a LEXMARK in quite a while. They eliminated the MPS Elite program we were own, or at the least removed us from that program. I never had anyone ask about the security due to the Chinese ownership but it’s a great point. Honestly, I have found their support, to us at least, to be very subpar. Our support from brother has been phenomenal the last 2 years. Most of my printer clients are replacing the lexmarks with the brothers as fast as they can.

Taking a deeper dive, knowing that the U.S. DoD Inspector General recommends adding Lexmark to the banned list with Huawei (Lenovo and GoPro also), does that make you uncomfortable when pitching a Lexmark unit?

There is an all inclusive cpc charge for the Erasable Blue toner. The cost per copy analysis suggests that if on a 60 month lease you do not expect the the customer to erase more than 210,000 pages (3,500 pages per month) you can forget the parts cost and charge the same cpc as for Black at around $0.010 per page with a decent profit. There is no charge other than the users effort to recycle pages printed with erasable blue. If a sheet of paper costs $0.010 and Erasable Blue costs $0.010 you...

A Konica Minolta Banner sheet is technically only one piece of paper. Are you saying that it should be single clicked also? The only reason that this is an issue is the common practice of Print for Pay shops to run all or almost all of their letter jobs two up and then cut them in half. The end result is to produce 10,000 Letter sheets, that is what they will deliver to their customer. But the choose to do them two up on 5,000 11x17 sheet to cut thier cost in half. But the MFD gets the same...

Regardless, consider the costs: 20,000 prints per month @ $.0075/copy and $.01/sheet of paper. If the average print job is 15 pages you have added $840/year to your costs ($2,400 over 3 years) If the average...

So they are different from the 551/700? Those machines could run 110lb index through drawers 2 & 3 if the 100 Sheet stapling finisher was on it. This is because the other finishers wouldn't take 110lb index. But, the finishers on the 100/1075 take 110lb. See the dilemma.

Also the short drum uses less ink, with the increased master yield and decreased ink saturation of the master, you get a lower per page cost. This can win many deals in schools where they have been using duplicators that only cut a 17 inch master for a letter sheet.

Aside from the fact that you are much lower in price, there are a number of other advantages. For the price, if that is not the issue, you may want to throw a Gestetner DSc224 in to the mix (Aficio 1224c) and give them some color that they won't get with the Xerox! I also included this in my comparison sheet for you.

I looked at the brochure of the 7000 CMF and it says the same thing as the 3800 CMF, which is (3) 500 sheet trays and the bypass with no other paper options. Can someone verify or clarify this???
