DSM will let you centrally manage scan buttons on an mfp (that supports DSM) to a folder, email, or SharePoint from a Windows 2008 R2 Server. Access to the buttons is controlled with AD. No OCR functionality but it is now an option on the mfp itself. No more individual address books to worry about. Ricoh announced support back in 2010 but unfortunately very few models have it.

Have you cleaned/replaced the laser sync board? Usually this is a matter of toner piled on that board.

I should include that the orignal machine wa out in the field with a major toner spill. After the Tech (not me) vaccumed the machine out, it started the SC322 codes. It was then brought back to our shop, where other Techs (not me) shotguned MANY parts towards the orignal machine from a new machine. Apparently in the process, they manganed to "transfer" the SC322 to the brand new machine.

first try to cram your machine then do the laser adjustments before anything else. then remove the laser unit and be sure the mirrors are clean for the sync detection. then try replacing the LD unit. if you still have the problem you should bring out your local ricoh rep. i have seen the error show up when the print key is pressed and it was laser adjustment that corrected it. remember dont trust anyone elses work try these checks and you should be fine

Finally... Progress!!! Today I was able to get both machines working. I started from square one, ignoring everyone else's work. Using a new lazer unit, both machines worked! One has been narrowed down to a bad LD unit, and I'm still checking the second machine, as we ran out of time today. Thanks for all the info and help!!!

Re: Here's an interesting question I received about Ricoh scanning
For Windows 8 and Server 2012 you can upgrade the firmware to fix this problem. Another option is to install Dropbox at both locations and have them sync to that folder. This way you scan to the local folder by SMB and with Dropbox it will automatically sync to the other location.

Replace the cable that goes from the laser to the IPU board. This has been an occasional problem on the 45s, the harness that is. Also there is a cable on the sync board but if you replaced the laser unit that may have been part of it. Good luck
