Re: Desktop Shortcut to Scanned Images via store to HDD in scanner
Its pretty strait forward. Default the scanner to Store File to HDD. At the PC create a desktop shortcut to Web Image Monitor. Have customer click on Print Job/Store File -------> Document server. They will be able to download the document. The real problem though is you are encountering a lazy IT guy. Any IT guy worth his salt will help you set up scan to folder.

Desktop Shortcut to Scanned Images via store to HDD in scanner
Can anyone help with figuring out a way to access documents that were stored to the HDD through the scanner function, by creating a shortcut on a users desktop? I have an account that IT only allows scanning to the mfp's HDD and there are other manufacturers within the account such as Konica that can do this via their pagescope software. There are just too many steps for their liking to go to the web image monitor and then click through to see the documents stored and then save them back to...

Many software vendors jumped on this ‘bandwagon’ and began to provide solutions for storing data on tamper-proof CD’s. Initially, the solutions were all about storing output from core applications, output such as daily reports, financial statements, etc. The concept became known as COLD – Computer...

Re: UPS Stores
You may not want to divulge details right this moment but are you going to try to sell into them? If so, they can buy from whoever they want but I had always been told they get rebates from the manufacturers because the CPP is so low. I have had numerous UPS Store owners tell me they would buy from me if I could match the service rates from KM or Ricoh, but I wouldn't touch them personally.

Every so often I have to dive back into the waters of mobile security and offer up a hard truth for users to swallow. Most often those truths are pretty easy to accept, such as never installing a piece of software unless it's found in the app store for your ecosystem (Google Play Store and the iOS App Store), using a password manager , or always making sure to keep both apps and the operating system updated.
