Re: Ricoh acquisition ‘bolsters’ IT services strategy
From what I learned at the BTA East Grand Slam event in Rye Brook, NY on 10/3/12, Ricoh will not adopt this strategy in the U.S. However, they are preparing the RBS locations to pursue Managed IT Services in certain markets. They have no intent to offer any type of offer to Ricoh Dealers, like XEROX has with ACS and Konica Minolta has with All Covered.

Yes, AC68 that is exactly what we do for leases that go past expiry. We increase the cpc to what we call "market rate". Unfortunately, this makes the account easier for a competitive vendor to swoop in and "slam" the account with a new lease.

Yes, I had the same problem at the end of the summer. Alas, I thought I was a great video game player, however with Aficio's hit the homerun, I managed a mere 200 points. You are correct, there is a different game when you get to try for the "grand slam". Boo's the AF league for changing the swings and also Boo's the Aficio League for making us wait up to 30 days for points to be awarded. I inout all of my sales in clusters, it never fails that there one isw one or two "hung up" for 30 days...

You will always have customers who move you to a "bottom dollar" box sale. Those you spend as little time with as possible and move on. Finding and working with those customers where you provide a solutions based program will not only allow you to move beyond the commmodity to something that pays you and helps them. Those who live by the slammed deal will die by the slam deal.

One of the hardest transitions that most companies face is that one which takes us from "boxes" to solutions sales. How easy it is at the end of a slow month to revert back to the slam mentality. and Scott, you are right. We simply have to keep our focus on talking points that lead the client toward a solution to producing and managing of their document.
