Re: Sharp SF-8100
I was asked by an existing account if I could use a few "extra" copiers and one of these Sharp was being offered.

This looks like the Canon CLC1150 with built in Fiery RIP in the bottom right cabinet. It was a little slow by today's standards but its image quality was better than some current business color Canon.

Re: Can I Copy Mixed Sized Documents on a Copier?
I disagree. Most law firms and many insurance companies still have a commonly re-ocurring need for mixed size originals. I am currently working with one European shipping company based in NA that wants to do do mixed size originals with a mix of A3 and A4 documents. I say it cannot be done as the paper is all of different widths. I am hoping that my unscrupoulous competitive vendors will admit to the same..... not likely!!! They want the sale today! Please advise.

A3 (11 x 17) and A4 (8 1/2 x 11) can be run at the same time with auto paper select making what you put in what you get out using mixed-originals and the mixed originals setting. The sizes you mention are European, but I'm sure they will work. As long as it's a standard document size it should work.

Re: Can I Copy Mixed Sized Documents on a Copier?
Sorry, I meant to say a mix of A4 and Legal size documents. I agree most copiers should be able to do mixed size originals with a combo of A3/A4 and Letter-R/Legal. The problem I am having and I do not think it can be done is one of a mix of A4 and legal mixing North American and European sized paper in the same document. This is because the two paper sizes are of different widths.

How about Duplex Tray, Plain Paper, Cold Pressure Fusing, Staionary Platen, Push Button Color, Dry Toner, 20 Gin Sorter, SADF, Recirculating ADF Scan once, print many were the buzz words of the digital transition.

Was talking with larry kirsch today and he told me about the old "carrier sheets" that clients purchased. I then remembered "copier covers". In my Minolta days, all of the Minolta copiers came with a blue cover with a white Minolta logo.

Don't forget "Key Operator". Back in the day the highly trained main operator had a Key to lock \ unlock the Copier. Vince

Can I Copy Mixed Sized Documents on a Copier?
Even before the dawn of the digital copiers there some were a few copiers that allowed you to mix different size originals in the copier document feeder. For instance if you had a mix of letter, legal and ledger size documents you could place them all...

Why Sales Teams Should Stop Using LinkedIn
I know what you all are thinking.... Rationalization runs rampant as mental justifications sets in... "We are three years behind major cities in technology" "This is small town USA, very few of our clients have LinkedIn profiles" "Our clients aren't social" "We have a great client base" "Can't expose our competitor's to what we are doing" "I am too old for this social stuff" (Attention Boomers) More rationalization from sales reps... "Prospects are not returning my emails so I will stop...

Copier terms/language from days gone by
I'm trying to put together some of words that we used years ago with analog copiers. I was able to remember these, however I think there were many more. Can anyone help fill in the missing ones? CROP codes (used for Sharp devices) Skyshot Dispersant Fuser oil

“New Print” Will Prevail
This blog entry on whattheythink.com strikes to very core of what I've been preaching about wide format, color, ink and labels for the past few years. We need to be in this! Commentary & Analysis “New Print” Will Prevail Where will printers make money in the future? Some say it will be from digital printing. But digital printing is usurping analog volumes and analog volumes are not growing. In order to grow, the printing industry must find new products and new services. By Frank Romano...

Sharing educating content on social media is something that needs to be done on a daily basis. It takes less than ten minutes a day. Just like prospecting, it's something you do every day of the week, and even weekends!

Yes correct Art. However, this is part of a well rounded approach to integrating the use of social. As the parody states, "Stop using LinkedIn" I see all too many wing and a prayer approaches to LinkedIn or for that matter any social. This is a great time to be in sales but collectively management must be fostering an environment of building up sales reps digital skill sets. Practice, practice and more practice. This must become top of mind for all management.

Larry Really??? "but collectively management must be fostering an environment of building up sales reps digital skill sets" I guess those skill sets are easier for of us, and not easy for others. Frankly, I find it hard to believe that a sales person can't grasp what to do with social media.

Re: Why Sales Teams Should Stop Using LinkedIn
Yes Art management must provide support and education. Very few and I mean very few sales reps understand what to do with any aspect of social media. If a sales rep plans on having any career inside this channel they must adapt/adopt a digital mindset. This means leveraging their brand as well. It is time for change and I am here to help facilitate.
