This isn't machine-dependent but rather depends on having a connection to a wireless access point that connects to the network the printer is on. If he doesn't have access from one building to another, Hot Spot could be a good option.

so, would it be possible to connect an access point to the Ethernet port of the copier?

Re: Ricoh MP C6502 & Envelopes

OK, you need to change the 6502 to "Driver Command". Press "User tools" Press "printer settings" Press "system" Press "Tray setting Priority" Select "by-pass" and then set to "driver command" That will do it

So, we are having this issue, as well, however I did this (even before I searched P4P thinking I would be the save the day-er) and it still does not work. We have tried different thicknesses, different directions, flap opened/closed, changing SP modes, and my guys are now into taking the fusing section apart for adjustment. Any other tips you may have run into on the C6502's with envelopes that can help us out? We are installing in a large account where I have multiple locations waiting for...

We tried that, we are into adjusting the fuser at this point. I think I will go adjust and try that on another machine, though, and see if it will work...

I believe there may have been ad adjustment that we made somewhere near the registration rollers, don't have a tech here to confirm. You could always take the 6502 out and replace with the 6003SP, they run envelopes even better

The best thing Ricoh could give us is advanced scanning functionality as a standard feature. To be able to navigate to whatever network folder a user wants would be huge, as would the ability to scan to Word or Excel. Canon already has these features, so we are at a huge price disadvantage if it is functionality a customer needs since we have to add ICE (which has a less-than-desirable UI) or NSI AutoStore.

I was not aware that browse to any folder was standard on the Canon systems. Has it been like that for long?

I think it's been the most recent generation of equipment. I could be wrong on that one, but I'm positive on the OCR.

Art... you'd make $1 million a year if you sold Canon! Love the idea of the staple-free stapler though - not sure if it would be worth it because staples are so cheap and most companies would probably charge double over a regular staple finisher.

How about an entry level wide format printer based on GelSprinter technology? $3-5K price range. A quality Tabletop B/W with a full sized display and a low cpc.
