Re: 5 Reasons Why Leaders Of Copier Dealerships Should Have Strong LinkedIn Profiles

Larry I believe, you believe it, yet it seems to me the involvement of "C" level execs on LinkedIn is very low, unless they are all lurkers. There's only a handful of "C" level execs in our industry that promote, inspire and engage. One of my biggest concerns with LinkedIn is that most "C" levels execs either don't have the time or are too busy running the ship to become active. Maybe that next generation may turn the tide with LinkedIn, but for right now, I know more Boomers that are much...

Art, Nice comments. Love the Promote, Inspire & Engage! Just as the dealership website is a necessity so is their LinkedIn presence as well. Most don't give a second thought but they should as this directly affects their image. Setting aside 30 minutes per day is not asking much. Set the example.

Re: Managed IT Services: The Imaging Channel vs. A Lack of Confidence

Jason H ·
I'd like to hear from people who have transition into MNS and are actually making money with it...making a profit that actually makes it worth it. Between the CDA members and others in the industry, I have heard so many people who are doing it to be deeper and wider in their accounts but the IT business is not profitable for them. I guess on the other side of the equation I'm hearing a lot of people who are buying an IT company and integrating them into their imaging companies. Seems the way...

we're doing it, not sure if we're making money on it. Not privy to that part of the business. Stratix is one of those that just bought an IT company, seems that is the way to go since those IT companies are already turning a profit.

Harold, We don't have a yearly price. Our subscribers pay monthly for our services and the cost varies based on the subscription. I'd be happy to discuss your companies needs and provide you with the plan that works for you. I can be reached at 1-877-412-8348. As a side note, our members generate recurring revenue directly from our user management licensing which typically covers the monthly cost and more. So essentially to them it's free!

Let's look at the history. Multifunction Printers --> Commoditized by the copier industry Managed Print Services --> Used as a buzz word for marketing purposes. Does anyone even know what true MPS is anymore? Now even RFP's contain the term Managed Print Services and it does not mean what they think it is...

Re: Leapfrog Managed Services from Muratec

txeagle24 ·
Focusing on gaining more market-share in the copier industry is a fool's game, unless you're the manufacturer. Dealers that hope to be around & profitable in the future have to find alternative revenue streams, because the fact of the matter is that not everyone needs a $15,000 A3 MFP when in many cases a $1,000 A4 MFP will do. For the dealer community, it has to be about capturing profitable recurring revenue streams, whether that be through SaaS solutions, MPS, Managed Services, BPO,...

What does "drop out colour send" mean?
Comment

Re: Ricoh MP 401SPF Spec Review

Art Post ·
Drop Out Color Send When scanning in B&W, users can choose to NOT capture a specific color -red, green, or blue - from a scanned page. This is useful when extracting data from forms, or to enhance OCR scanning accuracy by narrowing the range of color characters to be interpreted as editable text.

Can you expand on Distributed Scan management? I am use to the idea of creating one touch buttons or templates on the copier control panel to enable scanning or workflows. How is this different? Or is it just marketing?

Re: What is Print and Imaging as-a-Service?

Old Glory ·
This just sounds to me like Facilities Management under a different name. Facilities Management is the practice of setting up a printing operation within a company as a service to the company. The people operating the equipment are employees of the Facilities Management company not the corporation. It is buying the apples, not the tree taken to the extreme. It's not uncommon that all postal services are packaged in as well. As far as MFP seat licensing...I don't see it ever coming to pass.

Re: What is Print and Imaging as-a-Service?

Old Glory ty for the comment. Yes, Facilities Management could be just a different spin on an old theme. MFP seat licensing would solve many issues that we have with selling the customer a traditional finance lease.

Re: What is Print and Imaging as-a-Service?

Czech ·
From my understanding, "per seat" billing isn't designed to overcome leasing objectives. It's designed to add additional revenue in deals through Managed IT Services, which uses per seat billing. Both products get amalgamated under a single solution with a single invoice based solely on the amount of employees that require the service. For me, the big question is who pays for the equipment? Can a dealer really support financing/purchasing a large volume of MFP's and putting them out on 1 or...

I've heard of dealers doing seat licensing on smaller tabletop printers for MPS accts but not for larger MFP's. I've heard this being done in the Chicago Metro market place. Chicagoland adopted the MPS programs real early & the BTA dealers have really penetrated the market in a big way by now. The dealers are now fighting to differentiate themselves & offer something different & this seat licensing seems to be the new buzz. I never heard of it being done in any other geographic...

Re: What is Print and Imaging as-a-Service?

I definitely see per-seat billing for MPS in the near future for the more progressive dealers with one huge benefit being that under such a program the goals of the dealer and client agree a aligned, because both benefit from less printing. It will make sense for dealers that have successfully transitioned from a transactional business model dependent upon hardware placements to a services business model where the priority is growing recurring revenue. I could even see hardware being bundled...
