There are a lot more of those than there used to be. That's why our industry has to change the way they add prospects to the pipeline. They are going to have to actually start marketing for a change (spend dollars on marketing instead of salespeople) & do things to position themselves as a resource companies will contact when they need something versus salespeople throwing a million lines in the water hoping they get a bite. It's got to be all about generating in-bound leads and...

I have seen statements on return forms from lease companies that state that the leasee is responsible for securing data that may be on the HDD. Regarding the show, CBS producers get paid to make reports for "good TV". I heard about this HDD concern a few weeks ago in an early morning "tip" from Clark Howard on CNN a few weeks ago. I was on my way to an account to do some end user training when the 1st plane hit. Heard it on IMUS in the morning. At that time everyone throught it was a small commuter plane accident. While at the customer's office, the second plane hit. We stopped training and my customer and I watched it all unfold on a TV in his conference room. I remmember thinking if this is what people felt like after Pearl Harbor. It was a mix of anger and just hazziness.

Out here in Wisconsin, I was getting ready for work and listening to the radio, as I usually did then. The deejay interrupted the song that was playing, and I will always remember the stunned tone in his voice and his unusual words. He said, "If you are not watching TV, you need to turn it on NOW." What kind of weird thing is that for a radio deejay to say?! So, I did what he said and that's how I found out about the planes hitting the towers. In the time it took me to drive to work, the...

Apparently Panasonic cut 15,000 jobs nationwide (last day is end of February), and dumped all but the top handful of dealers. Those employees who lost their jobs can re-apply, but the "new" positions will be far fewer. Here's what I know so far: -If you have an existing Parts account, you'll keep it. Whew.

I think its a grey area. I've seen plenty of times where I've offered a TV or IPAD to someone and the owner tells the person who I worked with to keep it. Sometimes I have seen where the "company" keeps it....aka the owner takes it home with him.

Yes you are correct. The blinders go on when something is “given” to them. I’d be lying if i said I didn’t do it but the customer and everyone involved knows it’s there and listed on the proposal the whole time. I use it strategically with accounts I want and switch back and forth with things to keep competitors on their toes. Sometimes it’s a tv, sometimes it’s An iPad, sometimes it’s football tickets l, gift cards etc. it’s never the same for a particular machine or vertical market.
