Why a Copier Salesperson Loves to Sell DocuWare

Monte ·
You probably don’t know me but I’ve been in the industry now for over 20 years and have been fortunate to be successful selling Canon, Ricoh and Kyocera products in both hardware and software sales. I remember when I started it was all about hardware. I used to say “black and white paid the bills and color sent me on vacation”. Back in those days a color sale would be $40,000 plus and would always be a generous commission. I remember speaking with another colleague of mine back then who had...

Re: How you got started in the Industry?

Art Post (Guest) ·
Here's another, again back in the eighties. Got a call from a person that ran a business out of their home. I secured the demonstration for the date and time. Loaded the copier and my partner in the car and we were off! We got there and knocked on the door, then rang the doorbell, nothing.....figured we would go around back and knock on the backdoor. We opened the gate and found a woman nude sun bathing in the back yard! She saw us, screamed and went indoors...... we had the wrong address.

Re: Not Receiving Faxes on AC104

John Roof ·
Funny you should mention that. I took a 3900nf with me this afternoon and tested the line with that. When our office dialed the fax number, it rang twice, and then went busy. The line never rang where I was. The line was timing out before the handshake could be made, so the problem did not lie with the AC104. Thanks for the input.

Re: Can someone help with this?

txeagle24 ·
It's saying monthly color volume is up to 15k per month but no more than 30% of the total monthly volume. The issue here is that I'm pretty sure every service manager would kill sales if we placed these running 45k per month with 15k of that being color. Service managers are likely to interpret this to mean that monthly TOTAL volume should be 12-15k with 30% of that being color. Ricoh never ceases to create confusion between service & sales.

I interviewed for the job and like most interviews, they said, “we’ll call you kid” (I was 22 years old). A few days passed, then a few...

This Week in the Copier Industry Five Years Ago Last Week of July 2017 sponsored by It was Friday a few minutes after 5PM went my cell rang from an existing client and yes I could have easily let the call go to voice mail. With one day left in the month, having my quota made and it's a summer Friday night was enough to let the call pass. Fifteen minutes later I had the verbal for the order with decent GP and the DM stated they will sign on Monday. Good things happen to those that work hard!

Hackers Targeting Edge Devices: A Growing Cybersecurity Concern

Hackers Targeting Edge Devices: A Growing Cybersecurity Concern In a recent study published by Security Week magazine, researchers have uncovered a troubling trend: hackers are increasingly setting their sights on network endpoints and edge devices, such as printers and multifunction peripherals (MFPs). These devices, once considered low-risk, are now prime targets for cybercriminals. Here’s why. Why Hackers Are Interested in Edge Devices 1. Ubiquitous Internet Connectivity Edge devices are...
