Its pretty strait forward. Default the scanner to Store File to HDD. At the PC create a desktop shortcut to Web Image Monitor. Have customer click on Print Job/Store File -------> Document server. They will be able to download the document. The real problem though is you are encountering a lazy IT guy. Any IT guy worth his salt will help you set up scan to folder.

We install to the customers server, I build in 3 hours of pro services and then bundle the entire cost in the system. So some clarification first. PaperCut absolutely does support Mac. In fact, it is the only cost recovery/print control solution that I know of that actually installs in an all Mac environment. (Server and Client) It also is the only solution I know of that installs in a Linux environment. So both of your issues are solved with PaperCut. I included the install guides for Mac and Linux to get you started.

I have one of these in the P4P market, after 4 months all seems well and customer is satisfied with media offereing and quality. The one thing that has changed for this unit, since its the same engine as the MPC6000 and MPC7000 is that default from the factory is 11x17 single click and lower consumable costs. Making an inroad will depend on how dealers will position this unit, dealers more than ever can now be competitive with single click 11x17, and if you're going to play in the P4P you...

I know this is 3 weeks old but the reason that you can not send through Comcast e-mail server is because they are securing the server. Look in the customers e-mail settings in Outlook to get what you need. It is under Authentication and not all MFD's are capable of this. POP Server: Requires SSL SMTP Server: Requires POP before SMTP, port 465, and authentication of POP before SMTP or just authentication of just he name and password. Hope this helps.

Hey all. I am one of the support reps from Ricoh for PPDM. The product is FABULOUS. The roll out has just started in the field, really, and we are learning the product. The only real problem we have been having is with the server. Those have been IIS issues, not PPDM issues. Also, watch for firewall conflicts. The product allows for BATES stamps, scan to almost anything, and 99% OCR. Once it is up, it appears highly stable. If it crashes, removal can be tricky, but we have a fix for that.

Re: Wireless Printing to a LAN port on a Ricoh 4420NF (Savin 3760NF)

JasonR ·
Answers to the questions I think are in there: Yes, you can wirelessly print to a 4420 with a wireless card, as long as the home has wireless. The router does not act as a server, it acts as a router. It will take the print job from the PC and "route" it to the printer, as long as you configure them both to be on the same network/IP scheme and print to that IP. Do you need a wireless print server? Well, the answer to that is "no" if you have a wireless card in the 4420 and "yes" if you not.

Thanks very much and LOL about the paragraphs, you are right about that! So if I am understanding this correctly, I need to put the wireless print server next to the 4420NF and run a short CAT5 cable to it? I then can input an IP address into the 4420NF and tell the printer driver what it is. Or maybe it will assign one automatically under DHCP? I would then find it on the 4420NF and input that when settin up the driver? LAstly, do I need to do anything with the router if I use the wireless...

Correct, short CAT5 cable from printer to wireless print server. Best to put in a static IP into the machine, otherwise, you'd have to print to the hostname of the printer and have something doing local DNS to map it from the name to the ever-changing IP. You shouldn't need to do anything at all with the router. Just make sure your IP for the printer is in the same range as the PC. for example, the PC's IP is 192.168.1.1, you could make the printer 192.168.1.44 For small home networks, it's...

Re: MFP Losing IP address

JasonR ·
Is it a static IP address or Dynamic? If it is a static IP, I do not see any way that rebooting the server or workstation could affect the IP programmed in the machine. Even if there's a conflict, the machine would still have the IP. Also, if it's static, there is nothing the switch/model/router could have to do with the IP address. If it's dynamic, then the device providing the IP could have an issue. In this case, I can't say if that's the server/modem/router. Honestly, the most likely...

To clarify, what I'm using is actually a wireless bridge that connects the network card on the MFP via a cat5 cable to the bridge which connects to the wireless network. http://www.cdw.com/shop/produc...al-Band/1700151.aspx By doing that, you are connected to the network and can do anything you would be able to do with a direct network connection (scanning, etc.). My experience has been that setting up the server application so its available in the display of the MFP is a disaster. Also once its set up on the MFP its a very slow process to make selections and enter data on the mfp touchscreen. Very clunky at the mfp. I've given up on it and now just load the workstation software when the customer has a need. Its better to just set it up on a workstation and point the software to the customer's regular scan folder inbox. The desktop software is great.
