Re: Lost two deals in one day
Art, Write your main contact(s) a nice email saying that you are sorry you lost their business, and if there is anything you can ever do to help them please don't hesitate to call or email you. Then check in six months and see how their service after the sale is. If their service is poor maybe your company can steal back the service. That does not help you immediately but the next time you put in a proposal you will NOT have to be the cheapest. Because they will have seen what cheap service...

Re: Lost two deals in one day
Along the line of Vince's thinking, recommend that they sign a separate service agreement from the lease & that they ask for a clause that allows them to terminate the Service Agreement if satisfactory service levels are not delivered. This gives you a better shot of being able to get the service back if they are unhappy.

Recent Meeting with an IT person
I had a recent meeting with one of my existing clients that has a lot of Brother printers. Slowly been taking the Brothers out with Ricoh A4's. We had a recent email exchange in reference to spreadsheets that I developed for cost per page on my A4's. That IT person was stating my CPC was wrong and then emailed me thier file. That IT person had also figured in the cost of the Ricoh A4 in his cost per page analysis. I couldn't argue with them but its a reminder that the total cost should...

Lost two deals in one day
Both deals were more than 20K, less than 25K. One was net new, other was incumbent. Have special for net new and could not compete with cpc for .049, no minimum, 5 year guarantee for color at .049. MP C8002 Other deal was incumbent (kinda),...

The “New Math” For Managed Print Services
The “New Math” For Managed Print Services by Print Audit One of the difficulties I’ve always had with MPS as it is marketed today, is the apparent conflict of interest that exists between MPS providers and their customers, under the Cost-Per-Page (CPP) billing model. Let me first point out that CPP is not a requisite of MPS. In the Managed Services space generally, Cost-Per-User or per Seat billing is more common. Nevertheless, most of the businesses I encounter who provide MPS in North...

HP PageWide A3 machines
I couldn't make it to ITEX, and wondering what your reactions are to the HP PageWide A3 units? Is the CPP effective? Think they'll be reliable? Any outstanding features?

Re: HP PageWide A3 machines
I was there, I saw the A3 PageWide devices, HP would not give numbers on ink cost, although they did give of the yield of the cartridges. Pricing for cost per page seems like it will follow the traditional BTA pricing model. Which means no device billing for maintenance nor unlimited clicks like the HP PageWide XL 8000's (wide format). Dealers will price the cost per page model. Warranty on the print head is 3 years. HP is touting there value points with this device: Acceptable office color...
