I have some time to read through the link and it seems they bowed to pressure and have changed their policy. Thank goodness for that

Re: OKC-based company IMAGENET wants to keep employees’ $1,200 stimulus payments….
Good god. what a piece of work (Putting it nicely). Talk about screwing over your employees. At what point did this seem like a good idea for a company of Pats size. I know everyone is hurting but the 100 mil dealer is not hurting like the 5-10 mil dealer right now in my opinion. Glad he bowed to the pressure but that should have never been considered.

Re: Toshiba Introduces World's First Copier Delivering Erasable and Black & White Prints
Imagine a CMYK copier, except remove the CMY toner and developer and insert a new Erasable Blue (EB) toner and developer. Modify the copier so that when the Erasable blue toner passes back through the heat of the fuser, it de-colorizes the blue to white. A new rules based print driver can automatically makes software apps like emails auto print in blue plus provide a new counter to show how much paper, CO2 and money you saved. The previous generation product appealed to too small a section...

Re: Jive Expands Into Japan, Announces Local Reseller Partnerships With TIS and Ricoh IT Solutions
for me this is very interesting, JIVE is a web based platform. I believe Classmates.com uses the Jive platform. When I was considering new platforms fo the p4p a few years ago I reached out to Jive. Jive is pretty much for the big boys. It seems Ricoh will partner with Jive for selling overall MDS solutions to it's customers. I like this.... and I think that building the social media space for companies can be an untapped resource for sales. More to follow on this in a featured blog

A few questions for the Canon experts! Can this system only scan to google docs? Can you get the bookletmaker on the 4225?

Hey Art, You can scan to Google Docs (now called Google Drive), Microsoft Exchange, Email, Shared Network, as per a regular imageRUNNER ADVANCE unit. Yes, you can get the booklet finisher on a 4225.

Re: Canon U.S.A.'s imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4200 Series Brings Next Generation Platform to Midrange Black-and-White MFP Segment
You can scan to Mailboxes (like Ricoh's document server, but better) and an Advanced Box as well (similar to dropbox). Anything else requires additional software.

Re: Canon U.S.A.'s imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4200 Series Brings Next Generation Platform to Midrange Black-and-White MFP Segment
From the Ricoh's I've played around with, you can see all of the file names in the document server, but require authentication to print/send the file. Canon's units can have up to 100 mailboxes that can be individually named. Files are then securely stored inside each mailbox so that non-authenticated users cannot see what's inside someone else's mailbox.

Art, I have worked with and demo'd many of the individual components, and I had heard that Samsung was coming out with a bundle but this is the first I have seen it. The "Secuthru" Lite is a server less follow me printing, pretty cool. The Google Drive (Cloud App) worked pretty well too. Vince

Re: Toshiba Ships Newly Designed and Engineered Multifunction Printers
Looks like a really sweet looking unit, however is this really the spec for the paper support through the paper trays? 12" x 18" 140 lb index automatic duplexing from the drawers I like the 300 page document feeder also. I don't see an option for a fiery, is there one available?

Re: Document Solutions Brings in Quality Water Coolers in New York and New Jersey
At least somebody get's it, that there's a lot of money to be made with water. A wise dealer owner once told me that he links "seeding accounts" with different products. Image having a sales force selling water and then sharing those DM's contacts and equipment survey with the copier sales team. It's a win, win. Tell em, P4P Hotel sent you! https://purewatertech.com/

Re: Still looking for Software Solution! HELP!
Art, What is the native application the print stream is coming from? There are multiple solutions out there that can do this but some of it depends on the native application. Maybe more information could help. Also, what type of demo are they looking for? A log file output or just an automated system where they type or hit print and the command is sent automatically outputting duplex? There isn't much going on there just forcing duplex so I am curious what they are hoping to see. All the best

Re: More Info on "Subscription" Services
Well it's not exactly a subscription service. Take Ricoh ICE for example, if a dealer wants to resell it, it's available for purchase for 1-5 year terms for a decent discount. Now I've heard the same as you, that with the new intelligent series that users will be able to download apps and pay for them monthly. Which leads to a heck of a lot of questions. Who gets the comp? Is a credit card info residing on the hard drive? Who's going to support it if it's downloaded directly from the...

Re: More Info on "Subscription" Services
We are often guilty of looking at everything through a dealer's lense. Ricoh doesn't look at anything with an eye to the dealer channel. When you look at SAS from the Direct perspective things make more sense.
