Reply to "Toshiba's Eco MFP. An industry first!"

The Eraser unit does not actually remove any toner from the page. The special blue toner or ink turns transparent by chemical process when heat is applied. There is no waste toner bottle. This is possibly why the same piece of paper can only be erased 6 times. Estimates are for 50% reduction in CO2 compared to a conventional MFP.

The Eraser unit requires no additional consumables.

The e306LP (the Eco MFP) is about the same price as a regular e306. The extra cost is for the Eraser unit. One Eraser unit could support multiple e306LP's. The e306LP is marketed with a CPP.
