As an independent dealer we are definitely giving away too much Pro Services in the SMB space. We kind of us it as a sales pitch against the National vendors who almost always charge Pro Services. Right now we are starting to give the customers invoice for many Pro Services that we deliver but offset it with a credit, so that they can see it's value. Start with the drivers and the color settings within the driver. If they are used to the quality they were getting with a Fiery you may never make them happy without putting a Fiery in there. With the Fiery, Spot On and the spectrophotometer you can create a color profile to match what they were accustomed to with that Canon.

I can't speak to anything regarding specific applications, but the C6501 is a different animal than other Ricoh color MFPs. It had known output quality reliability issues from the beginning that Ricoh was slow to fix. By the time they finally came out with modifications to somewhat alleviate these issues, it was too late for many customers. At a certain point several years in, many dealers stopped selling this model, even if they had remaining new inventory in their showroom or warehouse. It

I read this thread with great interest but am doing pretty much everything already listed. My problem is in finding a customer who NEEDS a new solution. Our Savin line (Ricoh) do not wear out! Our dealer supports our machines for as long as we can get parts so I have equipment which has been in the field for 8-10 years and can't get them to upgrade. Why should they? If it ain't broke! Personally, I think you went to work for the wrong person/company. We have new reps up and running on their own within six months, yes there is much to learn, however we continue the education process with them. They are still learning, and part of the business of selling is to make those mistakes do you do learn from them. You never gave me an answer about how much (potential sales) is in your current pipeline.

Jeff: No yellow highlights here, however I did correct a few things and thanx for the heads up. As far as misspelled words, yup I going to have them every now and then. I try to make sure there are none, but there are times when many slip through. I'll try and do a better job, as far as grammar.... well, that's another story. When you work full time selling copiers and devote three hours a night to the web site every night, I do tend to get weary. Appreciate your comments.

I too have many systems in the field that are 8 plus years, however, I do have a base of systems that are leased. That lease base allows me to go in and talk to them about their end of lease options. Of course I don;t want them to buy the equipment, but I will dig deep into their needs to see if I can find pain, If I can find the pain, of course I'll have a shot at

Does anyone have any experience with this automated binding product? http://articles.mybinding.com/...em-and-punch-review/ I need to quote a law firm that is currently using a Ricoh MP6001 with a GBC StreamPunch III and a seperate standalone spiral wire binding unit. I do not have access to similar product. The ProClick 3000 looks like a possible solution although it only punches 15 pages at one time. In my opinion, in most cases, the shorter term lease only benefits the salesman, not the customer or the dealership. A lot of the savings you are talking about would only be true if the customer does a 36 month lease and stops but normally as you discuss they don't stop the have a payment for life, it's just a question of how often they refresh their equipment. The shorter term lease does give the customer the benefit of newer equipment sooner but make no mistake, they do pay more for that.

Agreed, 36 month lease is best for the sales person! But isn't that why work in this crazy business? if someone told me that I could only sell 60 month leases then I would be hard pressed to continue in this business. However, selling the 36 month payment FIRST, allows you to drop the cost of the payments by increasing the length of the payments. Therefor we can reduce the cost of the equipment rather than discounting the equipment. Discounting the equipment hurts the rep, and the dealer.

immediate "what pricing are you referring to?" Short and simple, the prospect smoked the inexperienced rep. But, sales is a learning process especially when you're in a one on one. The rep will learn just like we all learned by taking our lumps here and there. The objection is still there and I would bet dollars to doughnuts that the prospect is not comfortable with the support side of the transaction. So if it's up to the manufacturer to put this info on there how can the store set their own price? Also the other problem will be the same problem we have where everything is based on a set coverage rate that is normally lower than what people actually print. I bet the price Ricoh puts on there will be more that what customers are paying per page on contract. I am guessing the dope that put out this one got ripped off on a toner cartridge or something.

While the e306LP is an innovative product it is unlikely to displace any colour unit sales. As colour is more than half of what I sell, this leaves this product with a declining mono colour market to appeal to. The RD30 recycle unit makes the price of the solution much more than an equivalent eStudio 306. The e306LP does not have a stapling option. I find that most customers are interested in the ideas of ecology with their copiers but they are not willing to pay a premium for it.

There were reports of poor image quality and failure of the PCUs to reach published yield in other regions so RCL decided to suspend shipments. There is a fix planned but we were not happy with the schedule. We want to minimize the disruption to our end-users and to our business. We have been working with Service, Supply Chain and Finance to manage the issue. Service is contacting Dealers who

I'm not worried about the standard business envelopes but am uncertain as to whether this can run the invitation envelopes. I have a weird situation at a long term customer's office. They have 2 Savin C9120s and 1 Savin 8025. They were all scanning to email. Now the C9120s can connect to the mail server and the memory goes back to 100% when sending email. However, the recipient never receives the email. Exchange, Yahoo, Gmail, no destinations are receiving the email. All 3 systems have the same identical configuration.
